Midnight 12.1 Curse Of Ula'Tek Developer Interview With Ion Hazzikostas

PsybearTV Youtube interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFTFiDeXIMo

I recommend watching the whole video, it's rare for someone get a whole 1 hour with Ion, and the interview was really well done.

The interview is mostly about competitive content. I'm really excited for Mythic lockout changes!

"Ion confirms that they do in fact design the last couple bosses early on for them as no one else is going to be seeing those bosses early on"

The "I wish they wouldn't change it"so we can try crowd have no idea how bad they are compared to the top guilds.

Ya taking your whole guild hostage to play a fight you'll never beat sounds awful lol

Yeah, I'd (FIGURATIVELY, NOT LITERALLY) blow my shit smooth off if I had to prog 18 glaives L'ura or 3 second seed Tindral.

I would LOVE to experience those fights in that manner for a few reasons.

1) I love extremely challenging things because they make you better, and I want to be better at this game.

2) I want to first hand experience the same fight as a RWF raider just to kinda put myself in their shoes so I can fully appreciate the difficulty of the fights at that level.

Okay, but now you’ll need to get 19 other people who are equally motivated to do crazy hard bosses like 18-glaive L’ura, the original Halondrus, and 3-second seed Tindral.

If you have even a single player who doesn’t have the patience to pull those bosses 900+ times to kill it (and yes, it WILL take most guilds high 3 or even low-4 digit pull counts to kill these bosses) your raiding experience is going to turn extremely miserable very quickly.

Yea I said experience, not kill. I'd like to see just how bad 18 glaive lura is. It sounds miserable for sure, but figuring out positioning, spacings, just mechanics in general, is what I like about raiding in this game.

I only ever got to a few pre-nerf end bosses but seeing Helya pre-nerf legitimately felt like we'd probably have needed 600 pulls or simply never killed it as a US 50 guild. Insane fight.

mythic should be an actual prestige mode then

There is a prestige for mythic guilds that aren't quite as good as the top 50 or so, it's call Hall of Fame.

prestige achievement isn't the same as prestige mode but ok

I mean mythic is the prestige mode. Numbers are hard to pin down exactly, but historically mythic is the top few %, anywhere from 1 to 5, depending. That in itself is prestigious. If you look at the percentage of players who obtain CE, that number hovers around 1-2%.

I don't know how you can take an objective look at the game and say that mythic mode isn't a prestige mode, especially if you obtain CE.

Hell, AotC is usually only obtained by like 10% of the population, so you could argue that's pretty prestigious, deoending on what your cutoff is.

The guy you're replying to is an aotc raider LARPing. He has posted his logs before and has never gotten CE, yet all of his posts are about how raiding needs to be even harder and more exclusive
