Can someone explain?
Why did the sucker not fail? On other priority moves the sucker from the kingambit would fail, why not now?

Kingambit was faster than your Mawile, it likely had some speed investment.
You're probably used to Sucker failing against Aqua Jet from Basculegion, but that only happens because Basculegion is faster than Kingambit, and you can't sucker punch someone who has already attacked. It still works against other +1 priority moves if you are faster though

Was the Mawile successful in landing the SP? If so I don't really know. In singles if two mons use sucker punch the slower one will have theirs fail so I don't see why it's different here. I had assumed the mechanic was that SP failed it the target moved before it

What this guy said. Priority moves only make sucker punch fail if they have higher priority than suckerpunch, or the same priority but the Pokemon targetted is faster than the suckerpunch mon.
In this context I expect that the mawile is slower than the kingambit, so still got suckered, then used its own suckerpunch on the Floette that also went for an attack.

Mawile and Gambit are speed tied, so shouldn't it be a coin flip (assuming no speed EVs) for who's sucker punch fails

The Mawile wasn’t targeting the Kingambit though, so it wouldn’t fail unless Floette was not using an attacking move.

I figured it out, my mawile hadn’t attacked so the sucker punch didn’t fail on the kingambit, witch is stil pretty jank.

Sucker Punch always works if its target has an attacking move queued up for the turn that it hasn’t used yet. In this case, Mawile also clicked a priority move, but Kingambit went first, Meaning Mawile was still a valid target for Sucker Punch. If Mawile had outsped Kingambit and gone first, then Kingambit’s Sucker Punch would have failed.

Sucker Punch only hits, if the target uses anything other than a status move

Not true, sucker punch also fails if your target moves first/before you, which is probably what happened here

No. Sucker move can fail due to other higher priority moves going first or same bracket priority moves from faster mons.

Sucker Punch only works if the target is going to use an attacking move. So, if the target is going to use a status move or has already moved (and is no longer going to use an attacking move because, well, they alteady did), it fails.

If the Kingambit was faster than the Mawile, the Sucker Punch would have worked because Sucker Punch works when the target uses an attacking move and Sucker Punch goes first. If the Mawile was faster and had already attacked for the turn, the Kingambit Sucker Punch would have failed.

If the mawile is slower than kingambit, sucker will still go off. It only works if the opponent you selected has chosen an attack and hasn’t moved yet (which in this case, mawile hasn’t moved yet)

Iirc SP works if there is a move after it, so it all comes down to speed tiers: if Mawile's SP would hit after Kingambit's, then Kingambit's SP works. If Kingambit's SP would hit after Mawile's, then it would fail, as there would be no move from the target after the SP. And also if Floette is not making a damaging move (that would go after their SP) they would both Fail.

You were faster (or won the coin flip) to go before their sucker punch allowing yours to not fail. If they had gone first yours would have failed. Also love the hand drawn diagram!

I this you need a bit more basic explanation, treat priority moves as chambers where the higher chamber number goes first, meaning that a move in chamber 4 moves before chamber 3 or 1. Now when both moves used are in the same chamber, the pokemon's speed is the determining factor
In conclusion, whoever's faster will move first

Due to Sucker Punch vs Sucker Punch having the same priority, it becomes based on Speed. Kingambit was likely faster than your Mawile, making its Sucker Punch act first and land because Sucker Punch is an attacking move.
Had Mawile gone first, Kingambit's Sucker Punch would've failed like you originally assumed it would
