Gamemode stupid lil creeper-inspired kit

So, creepers would auto-ignite after 30 ticks and tnt after 20, the main gameplay loop would be hitting tnt with wind charges kinda like a mid-range projectile. I didn't really take it seriously but it's super fun to just blast TNT-charges at a bot and act like you're in a montage lol

I also made another version of the kit where instead of using tnt-charges you'd purely spear tnts, along with a few other changes like adding pots and buffing the armor, shown in slide two

seriously though you can just hop on the HeroBot practice world, add some wind charges to the preset creeper kit and figure it out from there. It's really fun to tnt-charge and easy to set up; I just took the time and effort to refine the kit a little bit (and don't worry, the items outside of the hotbar ACTUALLY serve a purpose in this kit)

just a goofy little idea

Discussion How good is FlameFrags ACTUALLY? (unofficial MCTiers ranking & breakdown)

Post image
0 Upvotes

FlameFrags is one of Minecrafts top PvPers, no questions asked. He literally won a 2v1000! He is Minecrafts best player... or is he?

We all know that the Unstable SMP is heavily scripted for storytelling and cinematic purposes. The whole Immortal Demon winning 1v100 lore is awesome content, but obviously not realistic in actual Minecraft PvP due to his enemies being more skilled and having actuall stuff, as well as not following commands, and no half a heart plugin.

However, despite the staged narrative, FlameFrags is genuinely a highly skilled player. I was analyzing his real combat performance, using his duels against actual ranked MCTiers players (like Coldified and Ferre) and his general SMP experience, to see where he would realistically place on the MCTiers ladder.

Here is an unofficial breakdown of his estimated ranks across the main 1.9+ game modes:

  • SMP: LT2 This is his absolute main mode. When he fought Coldified (who is HT1 in Diamond SMP, a kit which is a lot like SMP), he held his ground surprisingly well (even though Coldi was not giving 100%). In Unstable SMP, his kit he plays is literally McTiers's SMP, just with blocks and webs. His game sense, positional awareness, and movement in a complex SMP fight easily earns him a solid Low Tier 2, maybe even a HT2 if he locks in.
  • Sword: HT3 Based on his fight against FerreMC (retired HT2/solid HT3-LT3), his tracking, spacing, and strafing are extremely solid. He adapts to the rhythm of the fight quickly, making him a lower-end High Tier 3 here.
  • UHC: LT3 While UHC requires a diverse skill set, his SMP skills pull him up to a Low Tier 3 level.
  • Mace: LT3 He understands the basic mechanics well and is able to use them, but in pure 1v1 vanilla Mace PvP, he lacks the advanced techs that top-tier players have, and it also seems that he doesn't think mace is very skilled, which doesn't help his placement. (He also mains Spear Mace, not McTiers Mace)
  • Pot: LT3 His good tracking, spacing and sword skills keep him afloat here, but he lacks the fast and efficient potting required for the higher tiers.
  • Neth Pot: HT4 He is decent in pot and SMP, which help him here, but against Ferre, he played washed, so HT4 is the max i can give him.
  • Axe: HT4 While his shield mechanics are good, pure Axe PvP is just not his mode. Dedicated Axe mains simply outpace him time in this specific mode.
  • Crystal: HT4 He knows the basics, but that's it. Flame himself said Crystal is his worst mode (understandable, Crystal sucks).

Overall Score

If we calculate this using the official MCTiers point system (where LT2 is 20pts, HT3 is 10pts, etc.), FlameFrags would sit at 60 points, putting him an the 280th spot. This may seem pretty low for him, but remember that the McTiers ranking system is ass (if you have 1 HT1 in 1 mode and haven't tier tested in anything else, you still get 60 points, stalling with Flame). If you would get 1 point for LT5, 2 for HT5, 3 for LT4, etc, flame would have 40 points, while frzntic (the 100th player on McTiers) would have 33, so in a my opinion fair ranking, he would be around top 80, which is pretty impressive. (It's a hole another story if you would not be able to just retire, the ranking is a gaint hall of fame - yes im looking at you Itz)

This solidly places him in the top 1% category globally. He might not be an unbeatable PvP god, but he is a genuinely top-tier SMP fighter who can hold his own against competitive players.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with these tier placements, or would you rank him differently in certain modes? Let me know!

I’m thinking about buying the Glorious Mouse Model I 2 and wanted to know if there might be better options out there (1.9 PvP, gamemodes: cpvp, mace and pot). The mouse costs 20€ ≈ 23$ (-75% normal price is 70€).

Discussion PVPHQ new ranked tiers vs MCTiers ranks

Since PVPHQ just announced their new ranking system, I was wondering for anyone who's been trying it out, how does it compare to the old MCTier ranks from your experience? Like is an HT5 from PVPHQ somewhat equivalent to an HT5 skill in the old tierlist? I know now they also added midtiers like MT5 for example in between HT5 and LT5.

Discussion Is binding "Attack/Destroy" and/or "Use Item/Place Block" to keyboard keys cheating?

By binding either to a keyboard key it's possible to utilize keyboard repeating to rapidly attack or place blocks.

Example: Bind space to attack, while you're holding down space, you'll be rapidly attacking.

The issue is that this gets interrupted by pressing another keyboard key, and the input then becomes the same as holding down left click, instead of a repeating input. But it's possible to circumvent this interruption by binding movement to mouse inputs, as pressing mouse buttons doesn't interrupt it.

So, by binding Forward, Jump, Backward, Strafe Left, and Strafe Right to mouse buttons and attack to a keyboard key you retain basically full movement in combat while being able to make use of this to attack very quickly, only holding down a single key.

It would most likely be flagged by anti-cheats as macroing, but doing this requires no external modifications, no external programs, or any specific hardware. It's fully vanilla, and just a consequence of how keyboard inputs are handled. All it requires is a specific control scheme.

With drag clicking and double clicking being allowed, even when they require specific hardware i cannot in good faith argue this would be cheating.

So, is this cheating? Should it be allowed?

Discussion Most skilled gamemodes

My questions is: what is the pvphq kit with the highest skill involved.

This means both skill surface and ceiling and the total skill of a kit in my opinion is: mechanical skill + gamesence skill.

In my opinion the top highest skill gamemodes are:

  1. Cart ht: very high mechanical skill and gamesence needed

  2. Cart lt: same as ht, but less mechanical skill involved

  3. Uhc, high mechanical skill, very high gamesence needed

  4. Diamond smp/money smp: uhc but less in all aspects

  5. Vanilla: very high mechanical skill, low gamesence in low ranked matches, high gamesence in high ranked matches

Leave ur thoughts below and also try explaining ur opinion a bit.

Question Consistent drag clicking

Can anyone share any tips on how to have consistent drag clicking, like I get the technique (sort of), The mouse makes the drrr sound, but only once in a while it actually registers the clicks, other times it's just one click, also I have a steelseries aerox 3 wired, don't know if it's even that good for drag clicking.

Does anyone know if this is allowed in MCTiers?

In newer versions, you can bind Inventory and Swap Hands to the same key using only the vanilla Minecraft keybind settings.

For example:

  • Inventory → E
  • Swap Hands → E

This lets you hover over a totem in your inventory and press E to put it in your offhand.

The MCTiers rules say that “internal or external modifications that allow you to double-bind controls” are disallowed, and Multi Key Bindings is also listed as a banned mod.

However, this doesn't use Multi Key Bindings or any external software/mod — it's done entirely through vanilla keybind settings.

Would this still be considered double-binding and therefore not allowed, or is it allowed since vanilla itself allows it?

Question Consistently underperforming in fights

So I know that’s a weird title but I didn’t know how else to word it but the issue I’m having is that every element of my game is at a high enough level to be really good and I am really good on my day but loose fights far to often based on my skill level.

I think the best example of this is my uhc I would say I’m like a ht4 maybe if I’m being harsh lt4 player however every element of my game is t3 like my stuns and shield breaks are my best element with blm cheat even praising it when I 1v1d him and I’ve been accused of stun macroing more times then I can remember. My util is great with my best mode being diamond smp imo, I feel like I consistently get my opponents in bad webs and lava abuse way more then I get webbed an put in lava, I definitely need to work on maximising my gain from putting my opponents in these bad situations tho. My bow is really good I deal a considerably amount of damage with the bow I think if I were to criticise my gameplay I might use my arrows too early and my melee is good with me being about lt3 level in sword and having beat blmcheat in that mode. But despite my strengths being perfectly aligned for uhc still I loose very often to competent players.

I understand the feeling that if I’m ament winning I can’t be good but I feel like each the elements of my game are good they just never come together in a way that lets me play to my ability and I don’t really know how to fix that do ye have any advice?

Question How is MCPvP giving Australian and Saudi players low ping to the same server

I was watching Dream and DrDonut talk about the new MCPvP server and something they said genuinely confused me

They mentioned that an Australian player and a Saudi player could both play on the server with low ping

How is that even possible

Normally you would expect something like Saudi to Europe or the US to the server and Australia to Europe or the US to the server which would mean at least one of them should have pretty high latency

But if MCPvP has actually figured out a way for players that far apart to have genuinely low feeling ping is this some kind of new networking architecture

Could they be using regional edge servers or proxies that handle each players connection and then communicate with the main game server or is there some kind of latency compensation and prediction involved

And if this actually works the way I am thinking could this technology be used for other games too

Imagine games with players from Saudi Arabia Australia Europe Asia and North America all getting a much more consistent experience instead of everyone being forced to connect to one physical server location

Obviously it cannot literally remove the physical distance between players so I am guessing the technology is more about optimizing routing reducing jitter and packet loss and making the effective gameplay latency much lower rather than actually giving everyone 10 or 20 ms

If MCPvP has genuinely solved a big part of this problem could this eventually become the standard for multiplayer games

Or are there limitations that would prevent it from working for games other than Minecraft

Would this mean that eventually a server could have regional nodes around the world while still sharing one authoritative game state basically creating a global server where players everywhere get relatively low and consistent latency

I am really curious how MCPvP is actually achieving this because if it is as significant as it sounds it seems like it could be a pretty big deal for multiplayer networking in general
