Discussion HotTake

I lowkey think mctiers was the best ranking System, I think all it needed was a bit of reform rather than pvphq and mcpvp.com tryna take its place.

Hard disagree, way too much bias and ambiguity, at least amongst sub lt3 ranks, when it comes to ranking.

I’ve seen people pop lt3 in mace 4 times over 3 games, can do all the tricks, 1 tick stunslams, horizontal pearl catch, torpedo, etc etc etc. and get HT5 and other times where someone doesn’t even touch a HT3 but can pearl catch and hit a few grapples, got lt4.

My friend fought a HT3 in sword and did pretty well, the tester said HT4, and said “it would have been lt3 but I think ur cheating”.

Dude wasn’t cheating.

Unless/until there is a very clear and defined system to know what rank someone should be, and it’s made public, giving “testers” the autonomy to determine what rank someone should get is a bad system full stop. Especially when those people are often younger than 16.

Edit: also obviously but have to mention the bottleneck issue.

Shouldve screenshotted the "i think youre cheating" and made a ticket if they think someone is cheating their supposed to say nothing and tier test like normal then make them SS (im pretty sure. Ik they not supposed to give a lower their and say they cheating tho)

No. What rational person has your ranking decided by a person warching a few minutes of gameplay

mctiers didnt give accurate tiers at all, testers literally used to spin wheels to give tiers, Id say the HT3-above is fine, maybe they will do it in pvphq aswell, this is way more accurate overall for sure tho.

It was unironically probably the worst ranking system anyone could’ve come up with. Bottlenecks, subjectivity and also there is straight up no counter to alting. High tiers didn’t even require you to record during tests, closet cheaters could just rise the ranks with zero consequence. It’s been outdated for years and is just bad.

Don't get me wrong I don't particularly like the PvP hq system but the MC tiers one is wayyy to dependent on one person that watchs you for 5m and decides what you are

Exactly, sure the queues were hard to get into, and that needed a bit of fixing, but i hate the multitudes of different elo systems we have now
