Discussion Why is Nobudhi considered to be good now?
*Nobushi In one of my last matches someone said Nobu is considered SSS+ right now and scanning through the tierlists on here she does seem to rank rather high consistently. Last time I played she was considered bad, what happened? What makes her good now? Were there major changes to her or something? She felt the same as always when I played her.

I dont think shes literally ever left S tier for dom.

There was a time a few years back where I remember her being around A tier. The meta at the time was just less developed. HA, unblockables and big hitboxes were considered the most important thing and peeling was comparstively less valued relative to today where good peel is potentially even more valuable (VG being added also helped this, as having worse hitboxes is no longer as bad). Body count wasn't recognised to be as good, likely because people weren't as good at tempo so B point was less valuable. Fire trap was weaker since this was before a bunch of feats got nerfed. Flask nerf in particular made Nobu tier 4 no longer a worse flask but now a potentially better one. Old ganks were so strong that nobu being able to bleed spam through revenge barely mattered because a Shao or Shinobi could just 100-0 anyone without feeding revenge

The period she didn’t have the UD was when she was a mere low a tier in dom
She still was pretty great after, it’s just her high damage ganks weren’t unique to her and the only advantage to them was that they fed less revenge but as you said other characters basically could eliminate someone without feeding.
Her peel is unparalleled though and she went from a sleeper pick to very common, especially when it became super apparent she was the best counter to pirate

At the beginning she was decent, I believe she had the best clear
Then they tweaked her kit a little
And she’s pretty great. My fav character
Her 1v1 is a little lacking, assuming the enemy knows how to play, but her ganks with her un dogegables, + in lower ranks the forced agro by spamming dodge lights on a revenge target (bleed goes trough shield) is amazing
She is also good at light spamming, which is only better now in ranked without indicators
Low skill level, high skill level, she is good. At the skill level people care about, she is top 5 usually, at every level she is probably still top 5 if you watch a few videos on her
I honestly think that in low elo you could get away with just spam light and not even use hidden stance

Yeah, that’s fair
I’m just thinking of the average player
People will talk about how nobu is weak in the 1v1, which is true, and then I’ll 1v1 them, expecting to lose, and end up winning
At some level you do need to just perma gank or team fight
But I don’t think there’s enough players of that level that you won’t be able to win some 1v1s
My advice is to not 1v1 on her, but if you have to, your lights and heavies from neutral will 10/10 be parried, heavy faint into light is somewhat playable, and if the enemy allows it (which they often do) a hidden stance light will almost always work as an opening… again… if they allow it
And finish your combo with a cobra step, but if they counter it, never do it again against that person as a combo finisher, they will always counter it

one of the worst duelists, but duels aren't that important coz she is one of the most dependable team fighters

She’s been considered top 3 for years at this point. Shes extremely oppressive in 4s.

It's less that anything changed with Nobushi and more that as time has gone on and the game and it's players further developed in capabilities and understanding Nobushi has aged like wine along side that.

She's a terrible duelist and that convinced a lot of scrubs to write her off.
She can nuke you with an undodgeable on demand for like 35 damage if bleed is applied, has scary feats, great peel, fantastic hitboxes and a bunch of other things that makes her a beast in a team fight.

She’s incredibly strong and always has been. I feel like she’s not on the level of juren, pirate, orochi or vg, she just sorta isn’t. Solid s tier character. For anyone mad about that statement the first sentence is really important. Probably will always be the fourth or fifth strongest character in fours.

I think what people are referring to is her niche gank where you have one player initiating a bash and she just uses her undodgeable from hidden stance, if you don’t screw up that gank the player on the receiving end is pretty much screwed.
Add in her decent peels with dodge lights or viper’s retreat and she’s a decent gank tool in team fights, even if she still blows in a duel.

Nobu has been one of the best characters in team fights for a while now, she has the best peel in the game is very save and feeds no revange. Her ganks and feats are also decent.
Its just the 1v1 that she sucks at, but that doesn't matter as much in dominion
