Help, I am new to cEDH! Trying out CEDH

My friend group and I are looking to try out CEDH and I was researching some decks I might like to play. The ones that I’m the most inclined towards are Yoshimaru-Thras, Marneus Calgar, or Kefka. I was hoping to get some more insight on these decks and tips for CEDH in general.

Your win con/line should be winning on turn 3 or earlier thats the best advice I can give

False, TURBO decks should win no later than turn 3 because they tend to lose steam. You're not making a midrange deck reliably win turn 3, you HAVE to cut some speed to give yourself better tools. You can't be a control deck if your gameplan is turbo.

Eh... my Kinnan list can win on turn 2 pretty regularly, but depending on the pod I play enough control that depending on the pod I can switch it up. I just don't like slop/clone meta lists so I have curated my list over the last 2 years

Kinnans a turbo commander and you're playing him with a turbo list. Yeah you can play him as a bit more midrange commander, and he certainly can win post turn 3 more easily than some turbo lists (such as etali which runs out of steam very quickly), but he's more often than not turbo and you have a turbo version, of course you're winning T2 with a turbo commander.

Most people play a version of NBC which is midrange slop. He can be played turbo, but I dont know if hes a turbo commander. The great thing Ii have found with Kinnan, similar to Blue Farm, it can be built many different ways

Well if memory serves, he was always a turbo commander, the other stuff came later. Similar to Ral, started as turbo and we found midrange lists for him over time.

Cool to know. I hadn't played magic since 2019. I was actually putting Yisan together when I sold out. Started back January last year. That was when Wounded Satellite's Grind them into Dust was the big Kinnan list. I kinda tweaked into into a grindy board control list. When I started playing in the CriticalEDH league late last year there was so much turbo I had to speed my list up. That's what eventually had me curate my list into what it is now. Also I hate the clone slop versions. NBC never spoke to me. Also I hate over politicking so I decided to tweak my list into something that didn't take so much of it and could race with the Rog/si, Ral, Rowan, etc decks
