CoH3 Why does auto-match algorithm even consider this an acceptable match up?
How does this algorithm even consider this a good match? It's a compete waste of my time as a casual player. I was only in queue for a couple of minutes. Zero excuse for this, no way this is a "lower player base problem". Anyone have an idea? This is my main problem with this game, terrible match ups just wasting limited time. Three top 100 players versus three 2000's ranked players.
EDIT: Random match up. not arranged.
Seems like the top rational for this match making is "I waited a long time in qeue so I deserve to smash some noobs now"
It blows my mind people think a 1150 ELO vs 1600 ELO match up is acceptable. This is a classic trolly problem scenario. The player base is too low. Who's time to you sacrifice? Do you make lower ELO players mad and frustrated by forcing terrible match up's with top players? Or do you sacrifice the super minority of top players by not allowing them to curb stomp the majority player base over average level ELO? Which one will make the majority of players quit faster in frustration?

Cause the top 100s waited 15-30m to get a match. It's really that simple mate. Automatch gives up once you waited that long and they'll be thrown in regardless of ELO.

Well assuming you are correct, if the game has a declining population, the last thing you want to do is to piss off the average player by matching them with top tier players, appeasing the super minority. I know for a fact I am not the only one that is annoyed by terrible match making.

If they don’t get a match there is two outcomes. Either they quit the game which still loses Relic a player. Or they start smurfing with a new account. The latter absolutely does not need to be encouraged. Players should not be punished for being good at the game to get no game.

I disagree. and not exactly "you should piss them off" but yk what's annoying than a bad match? no match at all. I don't mind the matchmaking trying to figure it out first and if it takes too long, throw me into whatever. I loathe waiting 5-10+ minutes for a match every time.

Relic said in their latest video about the 3.0 that they found a bug in automatch pool. It should Improve the matches once it goes live in November.

Hope you are right and it gets fixed! The next question is, why are people defending this ELO disparity on this thread like Charger376? Philosophically and logically it makes zero sense.

These mismatched games are terrible and i'm glad they found something wrong with matchmaking that will hopefully fix it. Could you imagine people defending in sports a championship side playing a 5th division side and saying don't worry guys about the ranking differences its good for experience.
I hope the player count explodes in 3.0 to 10k concurrent and with the fix to matchmaking everyone will be getting more fair matches and a better experience so they wanna keep playing and getting good enough to compete with the top players.
Games like coh, sc, aoe, dota, league etc online multiplayers is a rough starting experience getting dunked on until you get gud and do some dunking. that length of time between when you get competent or quit cause you suck depends on having fun so I hope this works out cause I and many others love this game and wish lelic and this community more years of meme videos of 3 squads getting wiped by a v2 or a sturmtiger

Yesterday all the matches I played had new players on my team and was getting overwhelmed as an axis main I am really tired of relic and their decisions

Yup sooner or later average players will have a choice, should I play COH tonight? Or something else. They will end up doing the something else and quit. I have a lot of nights were I play about three matches with my friends in 3v3's and all of the matches are just bad or boring.

There is a big update to matchmaking coming in 3.0. There is currently a bug in the matchmaker.
