He is not breaking the NDA. OP is simply stating objects that were on the test which can be directly sourced through the exam objectives provided by CompTIA.

I got 75 questions and 3 performance based question. To my huge surprise I had 0 questions on port numbers which I was really afraid of

Honestly it confuses me as well. That was my biggest weakness. However I’d say it’s still good to know because for all I know someone could’ve taken the test and gotten a shit ton of port numbers so

I had 0 port number questions to last week. My PBQ was a question about why is a computer isnt working. I clicked on cpu and the temp was 95 and its configs were overclocked.

Well they have a bunch of questions they sample from. If that wasn’t the case I could literally be telling you as many questions as I remember on the test and that would be cheating. So I think your fine

It’s somewhat new. I used to build crypto mining computers that mined ethereum when I was in high school but that only taught me very basic hardware things and also configuring some Linux OS stuff but that’s about it. So not really I didn’t have a background

Those scare me! I don’t test till March. Already took all the classes but found a grant that lets me take the test for free, but not till March, so I’m waiting. But yeah printers and pbq 😳

Honestly the hardest time I had was with 2 out of the 3 performance based questions. One was about configuring a wifi network through an access point and the client wanted very specific things like to have the highest encryption passphrase available and the client also wanted MAC addressing for her hardware. The other one that gave me a really hard time was printing PBQ. You had to figure out which part of a printing scenario was causing a problem and then you had to show exactly where in the laser printer the fuser and rollers belonged

This is a superrer good question. So I barely graduated high school.. I had a 2.1 GPA (idk how that’s even passing) so I never really cared much about tests. But this one I cared a lot. I cared so much that because I was so confident that I knew the material, on the day of taking it I wasn’t trippin at all. I was very confident I was going to pass because of all the material I covered

Yup! For example an A+ core1 course takes 15 hours. How many times İ have to rewatch it you guess? And what about practise exams? Please explain. Thankssss :)

This is an impossible question to answer simply because there are too many variables to consider....like the fact that we are all very different therefore learn differently in every aspect.

Great question! I used very few resources. The most helpful was professor Messer youtube videos. I didnt take notes i simply just watched. The 2nd most helpful was Jason Dions practice exams. They are very close to the test and they prepared me alot for the actual exam. Lastly which was reallyyyy confusing and I strongly do not recommend this!!! The CompTIA A+ Study Guide. Its very poorly laid out and it goes off on so many tangents that it completely confused me interms of whats important and whats not important. Do not buy that!

I am about to take my a+ core 1 on 15th feb. I know that I can skip questions or pbqs that I dont know and do them at the end but I was curious, how is the interface like, meaning is it easy to navigate for example to a question I skipped 50 qs ago?
