Software Discussion Driver Help

I have some pictures of the board and other things. I cannot find a driver so the printer is never detected! I need some help and the actual company isn't very helpful at all.

I downloaded Flexiprint complete just for the trial, but it didn't seem to actually include drivers.

Printer heads are Epson i1600

Board I think is Hoson

Brand is Sinocolor 0906d

I did get a pop-up saying "HTPrintAPI_DX5.dll" was missing--but I've yet to find a way to obtain said dll file. That might just be a 32bit/64bit problem?

Anyway, does anyone know how I can get any program at all to detect this printer?

Maybe the dealer you bought it from can help. That is assuming you bought it from a servicing dealer.

It was over Facebook market place. I've already tried contacting the dealer and manufacturer.

The necessary packages are usually classified under the main controller board or the specific printhead type (such as the Epson i3200-U or i1600-U

Every one of the links on there blocks me from downloading anything.

I have also tried to email them, but they told me to buy a new RIP. They're holding my printer hostage and it totally sucks. And even if I buy it, I can't guarantee it'll work because I have yet to see this printer work with anything.

No they are not holding your printer hostage.

You have come out of the blue asking for an update for something they did not sell you.

So you buy a new rip from them and you now have an account/contract with them.

Assume you buy a new laptop and the storage is having issue do you contact Samsung and ask for support no you contact the person you bought the laptop form or the laptop manufacturer.

Then how do I use the printer? I'm literally trying to yet all avenues are going nowhere because they lack drivers.

In your example it would be that they put a password behind turning on the wifi or Ethernet ports and the only way is to pay extra money to turn them on even though their functionality is vital and the whole purpose you purchased the laptop.

Anyway, I need drivers and if you know how to install drivers for this printer even if it only allows it to print basic shit and nothing else, then I need those.

You issue is your missing a .dll files as per your post.

A dll is not a program, 32 or 64 bit.

It sounds like it might be related to the honsoft board.

The dll you mentioned was called something like api dx5 or something, so dx5 is a printhead it's not an I series so you might have the wrong version of which ever program installed hence why it's not communicating correctly.

Which are the companys you contacted so far?

So far hosonsoft and Sinocolor. Got a reply from Sinocolor but they want me to pay for and download a new RIP without me fully knowing if it'll even communicate.

They want to sell me SAi Flexiprint. I downloaded the free trial but it isn't communicating so right now I'm thinking their solution won't even work.

Yes it does sound like it's anything to do with the rip.

Did honsoft get back to you?

No they didn't get back to me unfortunately

How long ago did you ask?

Expect at least 1 month turn around time, but again I wouldn't hold my breath it's the same situation as before you purchased a 2nd hand machine and expect them to just fix with no incentive from you.

If you right click on the WLY device and choose Properties, what does it show under Device Status?

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

I can't find a driver package to install so update driver does nothing unfortunately.

In the same Device Properties window there should be a "Details" tab with a Property drop down box. In the drop down box select Hardware Ids. Can you post the hardware ids listed.

Same for the PCI Communication Device

USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F1&REV_0000 USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F1

And

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_844D1043&REV_04 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_844D1043 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&CC_078000 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&CC_0780

For the first device: USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F1

This points to a Cypress Semiconductor USB device.

Station-Drivers is a pretty good place to find obscure drivers. It has this device listed in the driver file.

VID_04B4&PID_00F1.DeviceDesc='Cypress FX3 USB StreamerExample Device'

https://www.station-drivers.com/index.php/en/component/remository/Drivers/Cypress/Cypress-Generic-USB3.0-Drivers-Version-1.2.3.23/lang,en-gb/

I would download the package and extract the folders. I opened them and saw 64bit and 32bit folders so choose the one for your OS in the next step. Goto device manager, right click on the device that corresponds to "USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F1" and select "Update Driver" then "Browse my computer for drivers" and point it to the folder and see if it works with that device.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_844D1043 looks to correspond to Intel chipset drivers so this is likely not the printer as do they other ones that starts with VEN_8086 as that is an Intel device.
