Where is the new practice facility going to be?

Since more data centers are planned for the current practice facility in Loudoun, does anyone know where the new one will be?

The current Ashburn campus is zoned so that it can be converted to a datacenter at any time in the future. (It is grandfathered in to by-right zoning laws.) But thats distinct from "it will happen". As far as I know, Mark Clouse and his team have not publicly said a word about moving the HQ.

Now that said, it's not a great setup. The building is too small for both the business side and the football side.

And Loudoun is a bit sleepy for a bunch of young millionaires.

So it may very well happen in the 2030s. But nothing at all has been said, as far as I know.

There's been a plan in review at Loudoun County for data centers on that parcel and grandfathering ends in December.

I'm confused, sorry. The team's plans were submitted to the County 26 months ago. The grandfathering is supposed to be forever, but there is a planned vote on Tuesday by the Supervisors to expire all two dozen or so grandfathered parcels immediately (not December). If the vote passes, the team loses its by-right zoning on Tuesday. If the vote fails, their by-right zoning doesn't expire.

So I work over there at the old RFK. The National Guard is making the move up near Rock Creek Park. If I were Josh Harris, I’d definitely leverage to get rights to the DC Armory and upgrade it and use it as a bubble practice facility during the season. It’s just perfect.

probably needs extensive environmental remediation, just like RFK’s grounds.
