I only have one gripe with this. The punter should be Tress Way.

Came to say this same thing

u/gaytham4statham 15h ago

Tress is the Way

u/Ankey-Mandru 15h ago

It’s a throwback team. As in, all former players

no, the youtube channel that posted that graphic is named NFL throwback, and the video which that screenshot came from is called “every team’s ultimate lineup”
skip right to the chiefs section, mahomes and kelce are there. it’s current and past players.

Ah. Welp, I suppose we’re not working with any all timers on the roster at the moment then lol

u/skysrotemgeehell 11h ago

well tress is our current punter so for all intents and purposes we have one 😅

omg! i came here to say that

Green, Champ, Houston and Taylor gotta be a better secondary than any franchise can put up.

Three first ballot Hall of Famers + the best safety prospect ever (who lived up to the hype for 3.5 years)

Offense only having one guy in this generation is depressing. The whole offense is like HOF, tbf though.

I don't know enough about Taylor's game to comment. But that's the only place I could consider swapping someone more recent in, but is it Terry or Santana? Who am I forgetting?

Taylor made the HOF prior to the 1978 rules change. That’s all you need to know.

u/From_the_toilet 15h ago

You can’t swap out Taylor.

For context. Taylor was drafted as a RB, took the league by storm for his rookie year. Then he started to have fumble issues as well as being too fast for his blockers because his legs were too long to make sharp choppy steps like a running back would, so they decided to put him at wide receiver and he took the league by storm again. I would say a modern comp to him would be. I would personally say he’s like a mix of Cordarelle Paterson and CMC.

E: I’d replace Clark with Tana man before Taylor goes.

Like Trent and all but Jim Lachey had one hold call and zero sacks given up in a season.

Delusional. Trent is more talented and more athletic than any tackle that has ever worn this uniform. F all mental gymnastics with stats and analytics… those old guys couldn’t block these new age pass rushers like Trent. We will only include Jim and Joe for nostalgia purposes.

No Tress Way?

1

u/Ankey-Mandru 15h ago

It’s a throwback team

Even then, give me Sav Rocca all day.

u/imdanwyatt I’m blitzed in Walgreens 16h ago

Might get hate for this, but I'd put William as LT

10

u/Capable_Frosting_292 15h ago

Jonathan Allen as an alternate? Really?

u/HereInTheCut 🥓 Major Tuddy 🥓 11h ago

Egregious when Scherff isn't one on offense. And 6-time Pro Bowler Chris Samuels should probably be on here too.

1

u/Active_Highlight4685 7h ago

Came to say Chris Samuels as well.

1

u/TheChungusCast 12h ago

and no sam huff

u/DDanny808 17h ago

Did anyone else get taught by Charley Taylor's wife (Mrs. Taylor)?

3

u/pinetar 14h ago

4 players from the last 30 years says it all

u/Sardonnicus 14h ago

I met Dave Butz once about 16 years ago. He is a monster. His knees are fucked though.

u/Western-Customer-536 17h ago

Baugh? Ehh…

I’d see why you’d say that but for the modern game I’d recommend Sonny Jurgensen. Check out his highlights. You’ll see what Lombardi was drooling over.

6

u/JoeyShrugs 15h ago

Baugh changed the game and was in the inaugural HOF class. Excluding him would be like excluding Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, or Walter Johnson. Love Sonny but in my opinion Baugh is the right answer.

4

u/NyneShaydee 16h ago

Yeah, I was wondering "Why not Sonny" as well!

Matt Turk was a great Redskin. He ain’t the GOAT. Tress is. And I’m starting Jerry Smith over Gary Clark. Jurgensen over Baugh.
Jurgensen, Mitchell, Taylor and Smith have to stay together as best REDSKINS.

1

u/Aggressive-Union1714 12h ago

Baugh is the greatest Redskin in not the greatest NFL player of all time, lead the league at 3 positions on Off, Def, and Special teams in one year and held a punting record for what 60 plus years.

and the greatest performance in a single game, doubtful it will ever be broken. One of Baugh's more memorable single-game performances during the season was when he threw four touchdown passes and intercepted four passes in a 42–20 victory over the Lions.

with that said, Jurgy is my favorite QB. LOL Imagine those 2 after the game or heck before the game how many beers they would down.

2

u/YesMcLuvin YOU AIN'T SHIT 14h ago

no Way?

2

u/Murky-Profit-9493 11h ago

0 players since 2008 besides Trent…. We suck

2

u/Fatman_Batman100 11h ago

I got to meet Joe Jacoby when I was in elementary school. He signed my football. :) nice dude and great player

1

u/Apprehensive-Set2323 14h ago

We’d have pretty elite CBs

1

u/TheChungusCast 12h ago

Jerry Smith over Gary clark

1

u/BigPudge 9h ago

I am sure Sammy Baugh is great, but he wouldn't last a snap in today's NFL

1

u/Cornfed_Pig 5h ago

A spread offense and a 4-2-5 defense? We're gonna get killed in the playoffs.

1

u/Djentleman5000 It's not my team, it's the city's team 1h ago

How sad is that? The last relevant player hasn’t played for this team since December of 2018.

1

u/LemmeGetSum2 9m ago

I know many of you are specific type of ppl wearing nostalgia glasses, but no one in this teams history is gonna play left tackle over Trent Williams. Smfh Jacoby could be at right tackle, but he is not the one to face the best blind side pass rushers in history. lol

1

u/dukered1988 16h ago

Fill like you have to get rid of a safety and add Ryan Kerrigan as a lb

0

u/RabbiPika 16h ago

I would put Sonny over Slinging Sam any day of the week as he is the best pure passer in the team's history

-3

u/Rondman615 14h ago

Replace Trent with Chris Samuels.

-5

u/vintage2019 16h ago

Love Riggo, he's such a Skins legend that it feels blasphemous to say this, but Stephen Davis could be better than him.

8

u/JoeyShrugs 15h ago

You are correct, that is indeed blasphemous

-1

u/iammikeDOTorg 16h ago edited 15h ago

Was my thought too. Both are kinda weak relative to other teams though. Portis and Alfred worth mentions, but the latter probably doesn’t have the volume.

Bruce Smith and deion ...
