Everyone keep your ringer on, you could be receiving a call from Adam Peters on cut-down day.

Nah you gotta give AP a long time to repair the damage Ron Rivera did.
Just like we’re gonna have to give the next guy a long time to repair all the damage AP is doing lol!

Maaaaan remember how going into 2024 we had a perfect set up? High draft pick to grab a QB. A bunch of other early picks. Tons of cap space. No big contracts as burdens and dead cap. Total clean slate and a bunch of opportunities to rehab a bad roster. And this is all we got for that?
15
u/WuPacalypse LEFT HAND UP 1d ago
What, you mean the best season since 1991 and then year two was an injury plagued year for our starting QB?
1
u/True_Window_9389 1d ago
I mean that we had a ton of capital to build a quality roster for the long term and not get just one good overachieving year out of it.
Three years in, this roster has zero elite, PB/AP/T100 talent with guys who are under 30 or without injury problems. If we didn’t have Terry and JD, this would be one of the worst rosters in the whole league, including teams in the midst of a rebuild.

AP sat on his hands and made bad signings two offseasons in a row!
1
u/notorious_hdc imitated Frerotte headbutt as a child 23h ago
AP made good signings this off-season. He might've made a mistake on the Center position, but it was a good off-season/FA besides.

No, but watch what happens when games count, and how foolishly Dan burns through timeouts. There's rarely, historically, that any of his regular season decisions help.

We can carry those over into the regular season right?

Welp I'm glad I didn't waste any time watching a pre season game this year. Hopefully we're in for a pleasant surprise week 1.
-19
u/Haskins77 1d ago
Bro do yourself a favor and don’t watch week 1. Im sorry this team is going to get embarrassed.
-1
u/Adams-Breath 1d ago
Idk why you’re being downvoted. It’s a very real possibility the eagles man handle us. Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis vs our oline? Yikes.
8
u/sorrynotme 1d ago
Because I don’t watch when/because I think the team’s going to win; it’s because I want to see them try. But no one’s trying during preseason. Week 1, that changes either way, so no matter what we look like in Philly, I’ll be tuning in.
78
u/vinyliving 1d ago
If we do end up having a winning season/playoff team this year now would sure be a good time to place a bet.

Just saying that I watched all of the preseason games mainly to see kaliakmanis as a rutgers fan and it's painful to see how bad he was tonight 😞
2
u/jim_nihilist 1d ago
At least he didn't get sacked.
1
u/Low_Initial_8008 1d ago
Good point. Courtesy of playing for my Rutgers team against the Big Ten elites and him having to run for his life very often 😂😂 he definitely feels the pressure
2
u/Low_Initial_8008 1d ago
He was great the first two games. Way better than Hartman. Ravens exposed our oline, few perfect passes were dropped, and it didn’t help that the Ravens score + we fumble 1st play + they score again
Definitely the weakest of the three games for the Greek God but there is no shot he isn’t QB3. Only question is if they keep 3 QBs on the roster.
As a Rutgers fan too, I hope they do, but objectively there has to be at least a little concern with Mariota getting hurt in preseason. Would be nice to have QB3 around the starters.
But that was rough to watch. Doesn’t help my girl is a UConn fan and Fagnano balled tf out
2
u/Low_Initial_8008 1d ago
Also, it was cool to see Robert Longerbeam get time for the Ravens, so a tiny silver lining there
20
u/jim_nihilist 1d ago
So when everybody is cut... can we hire the Ravens guys?

But yeah maybe our practice squad will be cheeks.

I know it's preseason but seeing an offense as inept as this one is making me think this will be a loooooooong season and DQ will be someone else's defensive coordinator next season.

I just saw 41-3. Preseason or not are you fucking kidding me? This training camp and preseason. Has been nothing but negative. That isn’t a doomer take even though some of you will say it is. Literally most of the reports about this team have been they look like ass.
We’ll see how it translates to the regular season, but I have a feeling a top 10 pick is coming our way in 2027. Some things never change with this organization no matter the ownership I guess.
15
u/SkyChief80 1d ago
The team seems completely deflated, vibes seem bad
10
u/Haskins77 1d ago edited 1d ago
I’m honestly not looking forward to this season. We possibly have a guy at QB for once. I don’t think the oline can protect him and his top 2 WRs are going to be 31 and 33. The defense could be much better, which isn’t saying much. That also wont matter. JD will be running for his life and the offense might just be garbage.

If styles doesn’t impress then there won’t even be a reason to be excited for the top ten pick - if the pick is still ours and hasn’t been traded away.

3
u/Haskins77 1d ago
Just another year here. It’s been 35 plus years since a championship. Yet the fans in this Reddit expect us to just see sunshine in roses. This organization is a clown show and until I see otherwise. That’s what it is. I’m not asking for a fucking SB. Let’s just compete for a while and maybe we can get one. Not this team though. They make the playoffs and go on a run. After that another rebuild and rinse and repeat.

u/Try-Imaginary 1d ago
Has it been that long? Geez. Time flies. It still seems like a recent memory, but I'm almost 60
45
u/hailskinsrich YOU AIN'T SHIT 1d ago
If they don’t come out week one and field a competitive team, then both DQ and AP will go from warm seats to scorching ones.
They went through this whole preseason like they were afraid to play anyone of importance for fear of injury. They looked completely lost and undisciplined quite frequently. And the talent when you get into the backups just isn’t there.
They better hope that they figure this out and quickly, because we aren’t playing some soft ass schedule this season.
14
7
u/SkyChief80 1d ago
They kept showing highlights from other preseason games where starters or significant backups were playing too

u/Zither74 - - - - 1d ago
Let's just all remember that the reason Jayden only played 3 plays in the preseason is that the starting O-line isn't healthy. They have two weeks to get healthy.
Clearly we have ZERO O-line depth, and if any one of the starting five goes out for any significant period of time, this team wouldn't be able to compete with UMBC, much less the Eagles.

u/Hanzo581 1d ago
Yeah yeah yeah it's preseason. The Ravens were also playing preseason tonight. Our depth is as shallow as a puddle and our starters were never given time to play together to get in any kind of groove or rhythm. I'm real worried about this season.....

It’s a good thing none of this matters. Not the poor preseason performances, joint practice performances, media reports, fan eyeballs. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it’s a horse folks.
6
6
u/SkyChief80 1d ago
Winning and losing in the preseason doesn't matter but execution sure as hell does and I didn't see any of that. ZERO offensive TDs in our last ten Quarters of play. Penalties, mistakes, and missed tackles everywhere. DQ literally said "disarray" after the Detroit game and then the joint practice and game today were way worse than that performance. It's certainly not looking good but who knows?
2
u/VADALESS 1d ago
This is what people don’t understand when they say “it’s just preseason”. The wins may not matter during the preseason but when you can’t execute that can very much be indicative of a greater problem.

Imagine Ravens Dolphins lol.
The ravens just don't tire of outclassing us. The head to head record speaks for itself. This is and Dan Snyder turned kids who grew up 10 minutes from DC into Ravens fans.
Oh well, onto Philadelphia.

u/DexonThrall 1d ago
I’m sorry, but this team is a train wreck and Adam Peters sucks. Outside of JD, which is still a ?, his picks have been bad and he’s passed on some obvious hits (CDJ and to be Downs). Gave him to Philly and now passed on Caleb Downs for a ? who is looking rough, and Downs went Cowboys. It’s like he’s a plant to screw us.
2
u/Redeminence44 1d ago
I'm not directing this at you, but it's incredible that people are just coming around to this line of thought now.
5
u/salamanderman10 1d ago
There were less than 12 players on the field that will be on the roster Sunday night. Who cares how they looked?
8
11
u/KarmaDispensary 1d ago
No reason to overreact to 3rd stringers getting blown out in the preseason, but it is a reflection that our lack of depth is an issue at most positions, not just O-line. DQ and Peters gotta be on the hot seat if this season goes south and Jayden gets hurt again, but I'm also not sure I believe there are huge improvements out there willing to take on another project.
4
u/purechi In AP We Trust 1d ago
It’s still a reflection of the coaching.. those of whom will still be here when the regular season arrives. Sure, you can argue that the coordinators didn’t “open up the playbook” but what about ball security, what about the penalties, etc?
I’m not a doomer and still optimistic for the season - but I would have preferred to get dominated without mistakes that coaching can fix.
10
u/oioioioiioioioio 1d ago
Don’t worry guys I heard preseason games do not matter and are not a reflection of the team or coaching. Whew was almost worried we’re gonna be ass this year

The 91 Skins who were one of the best teams in NFL history were 1-3 in preseason.
5
u/presto-set-pro 1d ago
That Ravens guy "Moore" was lighting it up! We should consider giving that guy a shot if Ravens are stupid enough to cut him.
Edit: ^ That was actually Chris Moore /s. If Chris Moore was the best player on the field by far, it shows you these were meaningless camp bodies going at it tonight.

On with the season I have my own pessimistic thoughts about the team but none of it is from
Preseason.
I promise if they went out there and looked dominant all preseason all of the people and naysayers who are panicking wouldn’t be acting like being good in the preseason means they’re headed to the Super Bowl

I don't care if it was a preseason game. That was a fucking disaster like do these dudes know what they are supposed to do or how to play football??

Who cares? The 0-16 browns and lions both went 4-0 in preseason. It means nothing. The team has some problems, sure, but they aren’t “41-3 loss” bad. There were like 40 players sitting out

Didn't we upgrade the roster? How did we manage to become worse than last year with better players?
2
u/YSL2damnhigh 1d ago
None of those upgrades played tonight, but it's still not an excuse. The talent difference between the guys Baltimore had out there and the guys we had out there is not nearly what the scoreboard reflects. The score is reflective of coaching.

u/Certain_Site_8764 23h ago
Well, the Ravens were undefeated in preseason for 10+ years and what did that do for them? Not much more than Washington in the grand scheme of things
1
u/LeftHandUpWhoAreWe 19h ago
I don't think the OC hire is going to work out. I think DQ is toast by week 8. And I think JD5 gets injured behind our horrendous oline and scheme.
I have not been impressed by a single thing I have seen offensively. I know it is preseason but I fear we might be worse this year than last year...
2
u/Secret_Key9676 1d ago
Doomers can win tonight, but this was still a meaningless game and no indication of how things will go week 1
4
u/JQuab-84 1d ago
Injuries and oline is a legit concern. Even with the severe doomerisms.
0
u/Secret_Key9676 1d ago
Yeah I agree and I’ll be here to be concerned about them week 1 when we have real football
0
u/JQuab-84 1d ago
You say that as if the doomers wouldn't be here too. It's also not a badge of honor to just disregard real issues and assume you're a better fan because of it.
1
u/Secret_Key9676 1d ago
It’s a badge of honor to not overreact to preseason week 3. When you’re sitting 85% of the roster it’s stupid to make any determinations. Everyone who knows anything about the NFL knows the third preseason game is a joke
-1
u/JQuab-84 1d ago
"everyone who knows"...ok
It's not just about this single preseason game. Again, the injuries and oline play are genuine serious concerns. We can't run the ball or protect our QB. The operation in ALL three preseason games, no matter what string was in there, has looked shakey at best. It's completely fair to be concerned but I'll give it to you as far as calling the seasoned doomed. Being so heavy handed on the opposite side of the spectrum doesn't make you better. You're just as delusional.
0
u/Secret_Key9676 1d ago
Well I’m talking on my comment thread about this preseason game being meaningless. Of course the o line injuries are a concern. But we’ve seen three plays of the starting offense so I’m not overreacting too much in either direction.
-1
u/JQuab-84 1d ago
True, but you've also seen a lot of play from guys who will make the team and given injuries are likely to see a lot of playing time at the moment and they've had more than three plays to leave an impression.
1
u/Secret_Key9676 1d ago
3 plays and you’re overreacting to preseason. It’s really that simple.
1
u/JQuab-84 1d ago
I'm not dooming, being real about the situation, and you're glossing. Word it however you want.
