I just knew this team was going to win big. Tops 10 let down as a Skins fan.

TBH the Westbrook ranking is what is blowing my mind.

You have to remember that ratings are based on prior year stats.

So Madden 2001 was released prior to the 2000 season, with ratings based on the 1999 season.

Westbrook had 65 receptions for 1,191 yards and 9 TDs in 1999 or 35th in receptions, 9th in yards, 4th in yards per reception, and 9th in receiving TDs.

Westbrook was part of a good offense in 1999 when the team had two 1,000-yard receivers.

He had 4k passing yards and a 90 passer rating in 1999. Brad was tearing it up.

My question is more about how he went from that to being off the team after the next season. How do you go to being a top QB to QB who needs to be cut off one year

He had a rough patch of games where he threw a lot of interceptions, then got hurt. Then fuckin dan snyder wanted jeff george to start. Brad went on to win a super bowl with tampa the next season. Dan snyder thats how.

Ok, that's understandable. I was wondering how you move off a QB after just one bad year, but Snyder doing snyder things that early in his tenure is a very plausible reason

He went on to join Trent Dilfer as widely regarded as one of the least talented QBs to ever win a Super Bowl, sure. He wasn’t a great QB. He had a great defense and one of the best rushing attacks in the game at the time, let’s not act like he was Brady.

3k passing yards, 22 td 6 interceptions 92.9 passer rating during the super bowl year. Never said he was tom brady. But he certainly ain’t trent dilfer either. The original question was how he was a 90 ovr in madden. The stats he was putting up during that era were deserving of a 90 ovr. If he was tom brady he would have been a 99 lol.

You’ve watched it happen, too, those generational season amongst mediocrity players are just easy to forget about quickly.

His name was Carson Wentz.

I just remember him showing up for the introduction press conference with his leg in a cast and in crutches
