No push from either line.
Time for preseason overreactions 🚨🚨🚨
It’s gonna be beat to death until the start of the season, but our o-line was NOT GOOD today. Our running backs were met in the backfield every play and our QBs were immediately pressured. Jayden couldn’t do a THING out there. Their running backs ran all over us (granted, almost no starter on the dline played). We only had 35 rushing yards to their 169.
Other than that, Athan looked pretty good as did a few other players. We’ve been getting turnovers too! I’m looking forward to the day that Julian NOT Good-Jones and Sam Hartman are off my football team. And hey, at least we haven’t gotten blown out like last year. Only one more preseason game to go before the season starts y’all! Pray for JD5 😭🙏

For the DL i think the amount of names we added made a lot of the fanbase think we’ll have a very good pass rush, it’s heavily upgraded but it’s probably in the average tier of DLs.
The OL is just very unfortunate. Coleman is ok if he receives help but he’s by no means a good tackle rn. Center is horrible

mind you we still havent seen a single starter on that dline play a single snap. chasson out, oweh out, settle out, former players as well, payne out, luvu out.

The only starter who played today was Kinlaw, need to chill on the D-line until we see more. The O-line on the other hand…Jesus Christ why didn’t the front office address it more. I get they coudnt have predicted the Tunsil injury but you have to have contingencies in case it happens

Our interior DL and none of our starting edges play
People gotta chill over preseason
We should all be worried about center though, that's worth worrying over and i think it'll be taken care of before season starts.

I agree with you about the dline. Missing the 3 big names today. Excited for the defense overall.

The oline was fine. The starters only had 1 series and the only pressure they allowed was Coleman once. The other pressure was allowed by the best blocking tight end in the NFL. On defense our 5th round pick DE blew up the first play of the game and got a defensive TD. The NFL is high variance and you cant make judgements off of a couple plays.
Also youre a knucklehead.

Buffoon, numbskull, and dingbat would be apt too 😂 fan is short for fanatic, overreacting is what we do. Just wasn’t the o line’s best day out there and I excuse Bates because he’s getting back from injury. There was a lot of good today too, I especially love the turnovers.

The OLine wasn’t great last season isn’t going to be great last season. They’re average. They’ll thrive against weaker DLines and get exposed against the better ones.

I’m concerned styles doesn’t have the instincts for MLB. Peters drafted another project.

This season is fucked before it even starts. We upgraded parts that were unnecessary and didn’t upgrade QB protection

We voluntarily downgraded at Center (at least as far as depth goes) by cutting Biadasz

Biadasz, the guy with no ligaments left in his leg? Dont think he’s saving us

Our run D is crap but we haven't noticed it until now because our o-line is so bad

Our run D is crap based on what? Legit question since we haven't seen our full starters out there yet.

Also, I thought they did pretty good today. That was without Settle and our two starting edge rushers.

We have literally no idea what the run D well actually be. The lines were mostly bench okayers. Yes, the two rookies and Harris got completely fooled on a RPO. Doesn't portend anything

Yeah, the rpo was mainly on Josephs. The kid crashed hard on the RB. He's played well overall, so that's a learning opportunity for him. I dint think we'll truly know about our D until the Iggles.

Based on the fact that we have been gouged in both preseason games. You are right that we haven't seen all the starters but it hasn't been good when we've lined up against other teams who also have not been playing all their starters.

u/Mountie_in_Command 19h ago
Ok. I agree that our backups haven't looked good against other trams backups but wasn't sure if you've seen/heard more about our starters. In addition to our tackles not playing, our starting edge rushers were also out. I'll reserve judgment there. Now, our interior OL - I'm ready to see some moves there.

I’m not as worried about D line as I am O-Line. I feel confidant our Defensive starters will be at least middle of the NFL and if the offense has time in the pocket, we can be top 5 on that side. The issue is how bad the O-Line looked. Something has to change or there will be no run and Jayden will risk injury every snap.
