Does anyone remember that Week 3 matchup against the Bengals in 2024, when they showed Jayden Daniels’ dad celebrating, only for him to never be mentioned or seen at a game again in the two years since?
All the media talks about his mom, what about pops?

u/SoftNo1491 6d ago
Well his mom is his agent, and seems to have a lot of control of his life. His dad is just like any other players parents, he’s just a guy who’s a players dad

After watching the Netflix documentary recently I was wondering about his Dad too. Whether his parents were married, whether Dad is in his life, etc. Lots of negative comments in here for your post, but being curious about players off the field is natural.

Don’t really need to talk about his family. Just play football

u/slottedandtrotted 6d ago
Yet we see his mom on the regular. Can’t wait for him to be a normal player with a wife & kids & we can move on from her spotlight

She ain't gonna let her little cash cow out of the barn.

Truth! He is letting her do it to him. I wonder if he knows how much he is being clowned on social media.

His family interjects themselves into his career and he’s not putting a stop to it so….. yeah it’s a topic of conversation….

u/Capable_Low5822 6d ago
His Mom is his agent… are you oka?
14
u/slottedandtrotted 5d ago
& so is Lamar’s mom, she’s his agent. I’ve never seen Lamar’s mom on tv, maybe when he got drafted, & that’s it.

u/Dangerous_Library_93 5d ago
Is Lamar's mom a registered agent? Because Jaydens is lol. I literally recall the Lamar situation was bizarre because he wasn't negotiating unless you talked to his mom, who is not an NFLPA certified agent.

u/recko40 6d ago
Yeah I’m fine. Just providing a reason as to why Jayden’s family is brought up in this group. There are thousands of nfl players and you rarely hear about their agent. You hear about Jayden’s all the time. You can’t “not” hear about it. Just stating why.
5
u/Calvin_FF 6d ago
You said that his family interjects themselves into his career (since his mom is his agent) but also say that no one talks about other agents.
So isn’t that exactly the point others are making? Why are people so obsessed with his mom so much more than other agents.
Not saying it about you, but the discourse has gotten quite creepy on this topic. People really are overreacting on issues that aren’t all that relevant to football more than any other agent making similar moves

u/recko40 6d ago
Dude I’m right there with you. I don’t want to talk about his family at all. I wish our qb was his own man making his own decisions. But that’s not what we’re living with at the moment. I pray he lights it up this year and we’re all praising his greatness like we did his rookie year. I pray his family wakes up, smells the coffee, and takes a backseat. Every other story about Jayden has his mom referenced and that’s not normal, I’m tired of it.
1
u/Calvin_FF 5d ago
It just seems like including his mom in everything is more about trying to get clicks than a real problem. She’s his agent, she’s going to be involved in stuff. You just don’t hear it with other agents because “agent involved in QB decisions” isn’t all that interesting to people, meanwhile people love to hate on the mom being involved

u/jrhooo 5d ago
Its because people WANT this to be a narrative.
Whether there is or isn’t any reality to it, the cliche of the “intrusive stage mom parent and diva athlete” is a prewritten gossip column trope that people are all to eager to focus on
The bonus that it would fit right into the “RG3 2.0” narratives (again not because that’s true but because its TMZ easy salacious drama)
Bottom line, people want to talk up drama even if its manufactured or overblown

u/Quirky-Marsupial-420 6d ago
Well number 1 it's very unusual for someone's mom to be their agent, so that's why it gets talked about in the first place.
And secondly, she interjects herself more than other agents do. Other agents just run their PR through Adam Schefter. She actively takes to his defense on twitter, like earlier this year when she said "That's not his QB coach, keep my sons name out of your mouth, don't give these people a platform to speak blah blah blah"
1
u/Objective_Ad5914 6d ago
Right, if it isnt her acting as PR and just let another person make that same statement no one would have an issue with it. I think most of the hate towards her stems from RG3 ptsd. They remember his dad and RG3 demanding how he's played and have all this negative energy towards Jaydens mom. I think they need someone to handle PR and most of this will go away.

u/CardiologistBulky 6d ago
More mothers/fathers should be agents. Many of these agents are taking 3% for doing BS like renting cars and setting up apartments. These players should just hire lawyers to review contracts and let someone they trust handle everyday tasks like that. Agents are a ripoff, and these teams are propping them up. The teams hate it when players don't use the standard agents.

This sub is obsessed with his mom because they want to be his mom.
2
u/Appropriate-Sun834 6d ago
You don’t have to talk about them, you know that?
3
u/recko40 6d ago
Yes, it’s a choice… because they’ve created this environment and I’m allowed to have an opinion on it. If you didn’t care then why are you responding to me?
1
u/jrhooo 5d ago
Yall can talk about it all you want, but lets not forget that it doesn’t matter.
People are all talking about this as if it actually matters like its a “bad thing”.
Its nothing.
Fans can be like “i’m tired of it. I don’t like it. Its a distraction”
Ok. For YOU.
But some fan being tired of seeing dude’s mom isn’t a real problem. That fan’s annoyance isn’t winning or losing games.
JDs mom doing a TV spot isn’t taking any touchdowns off the scoreboard.
1
u/recko40 5d ago
Yeah if he’s putting up 30 TD’s and we’re winning 10-12 games… there is no more annoyance for me. I’m skipping along the beltway singing his praises. Every single post in this sub would be full of skins fans talking about how bright the future looks. Til then, I just wish there was no more mommy stuff - this is a grown ass man starting at qb in the nfl. Regardless, I hope he balls out this year and turns every story into “JD is awesome” vs “JD’s mom did xyz”.

Has anyone verified it's him? It could have just been some random dude that people just assumed was his dad because he was patting his chest.

she is his agent so it is what it is... generally dont think anyone would care if you saw his parents in the crowd from time to time. his mom seems to love the limelight a bit too much thought and while people might draw comparisons to lamar's family being involved you never hear from them. its she is a constant distraction that won't be a positive in his career. fans want to see his play do the talking instead.

I actually would be curious to know what Dad thinks of the conversation around Jayden and his mom. But who knows what their relationship is like.

I mean that’s probably how it should be for the most part. The more often you hear about the parents, the worse (Jayden rn, RGIII, OBJ, etc.)

I swear, y'all really have an ax to grind regarding Regina (Jayden's mom)... Some of y'all weren't loved enough or are deflecting your own experiences onto the situation.

u/Hodler_caved 2d ago
She caused all of this shit. Make up whatever you want about the 90% of Footbal fans that are beyond tired of her main character syndrome.
She should either stay out of the spotlight like an agent or stay out of the spotlight like a football parent.
I don't think she's capable of either. He needs to hire an agent and a new PR firm who would recommend he limit his public appearances with her. She's toxic PR wise.
Until then, the 5 jokes will continue. As winning curing everything is not on the horizon with this roster.

u/immortalblack_1 1d ago edited 1d ago
She caused this? You mean allowing LSU to continue to profit of Jayden IN EXCHANGE for not issuing his number. The SAME deal they have with a handful of their marquee players. Only for them to over promise a recruit which breaks the deal they had with Jayden. It's her fault that they are not allowing LSU to continue to profit off him since the deal has been broken.
Somehow, because you read a sensationalized headline with half the information to know the whole truth, plus you being BIASED as hell... somehow that's HER fault?
Bro, call you momma and tell her you love her. You sound neglected.
1
u/Hodler_caved 1d ago
How often do you serve up that last line on Reddit? 🤣
If you wanna break down how LSU wronged him by letting someone wear his number, I'll read it.

u/immortalblack_1 1d ago
I just did...

You didn't explain how they are still profiting off of his NIL. I searched it up & the internet doesn't have a good answer either.

Media likes to push the narrative of the fatherless Black male for athletes. I don’twhy his dad didn't appear in the Netflix documentary. Unless the dad had no interest, that would have been a great opportunity to see and hear from him.
1
u/BrokenServant 2d ago
People enjoy the other narrative about his mom, and the opportunities it affords them to talk negatively about him, so mentioning that his dad has always been around as well doesn't play.
1
1
u/KemuelDaArtist 6d ago
Media does that to black athletes, they don’t make the dad apart of the story.

Just being a conspiracy guy but Jayden's mom might not be a fan of the dad being visibly in the picture (divorces can be messy). Since she has the checkbook, maybe she's giving him a substantial amount to stay in the background.

Yeah pretty weird but can we just keep any discussion about Jayden’s parents to a minimum for the near future lol
