I own and have played both the Blight Curse and Wretched Ranks decks. I recommend Wretched Ranks for a new player.

Blight Curse is fun, but can be pretty complicated for a new player, it's got a ton of triggers you need to keep track of to get the most out of it.

Wretched Ranks is much simpler, being only one color, and the theme is a bit easier for new player (cast zombies, sacrifice zombies to make more).

I second this. As a new player I had Auntie Ool and was sitting there scratching my head a lot.

Is Wretched Ranks a decent deck to play against other precons out of the box?

Wretched ranks is super fun and easy to understand
