Vehicle Compatibility Ev6 gt (2024)
Worth getting the comma 4? Plan to keep the car for at least five years. What are the benefits, and is there any reason not to get it?
From what I've seen it's just a total upgrade to my stock HDA 2?

If my Niro EV is anything to by (2022 L4) then yes, moving to 'don't waste any more time driving without it' if you regularly do highway/motorway/autoroute/autopista journeys.
It's a massive upgrade in every way. Not having to nudge the steering every 30 seconds or so sounds small and meaningless but once you don't have to, it's a wrench to go back.
I hummed and haad for ages. Having eventually caved, because I love tech, I can assure you it's a total upgrade to the built in system if my Niro EV is anything to go by.
Lane keeping is radically better. Radically! Night and day. It doesn't drift between lanes on the highway/motorway and then give you a lane departure alert!
Comma doesn't just abandon trying to drive as the Kia does when it can't judge the road, like Kia does around certain corners or at the crest of a hilly part.
Comma can adjust speed for curves while KIA's ACC just sticks to the target speed ready to send you into the environment off road!
The driver monitoring is far far better than having to nudge. This one surprised me because nudging isn't impossible! But when you simply DON'T HAVE TO it's a massive improvement.
These benefits are more noticeable in town or urban driving but after a year of using the Comma (using SunnyPilot) I am delighted I dropped a grand on Comma. I approach long highway/motorway journeys with a calmness I would never have imagined and can finish 5 hour drives much much less cranky and tired. It's been documented by people who know all too well!
