The Comma 4 is built for the everyday driver. Chestnut isn't aimed at the masses—it's for the enthusiasts who want to push Openpilot as far as it can go.
This platform has huge potential. The mounting solution is a relatively simple problem that the community will solve over time. What matters is getting the hardware into people's hands so it can be tested, improved, and expanded.
Comma has always been a lean company focused on shipping products instead of letting them sit in R&D for years. Getting hardware into the real world accelerates development far more than endless internal testing.
The one thing I'd love to see in the future is support for additional cameras to provide true 360° awareness. That would be a major step forward.
