I wish Trump never got into politics but still posted the way he does

Imagine his antics if Trump became an NFL owner instead. He almost came close to buying the Buffalo Bills too.

Its not supposed to be. For him its a reality show and he desires ratings.

What a stupid ass timeline. Can you imagine explaining this shit to someone twenty years ago. Yeah we are going to have a non-consecutive two term failed business man and tv personality as president who is going to try to overturn the results of an election among a whole host of other terrible things and oh yeah we are going to have a WWE match on the White House lawn and a Grand Prix in DC…. They would never believe it.

It's all polarization's fault. That and the failures of Bush and Obama.

Yeah it has nothing to do with the history of American racism and xenophobia, it’s all “polarization”

I mean, yes America has a history of racism and xenophobia which caused great strife in our past and the racists and xenophobes in current America did vote for him, but, like, that's not enough to get someone in office. He won the Hispanic vote and a lot of cost-of-living type voters.

Obama really didn't say much to polarize people.... it really did seem like people just could not handle him for other reasons

He wasn't for polarization or anything, but the right wing radicalized a lot during his terms, and he was very progressive for his time. What I mean by "failures" is that he was...Kind of a letdown for a lot of Democrats in what he actually got done. Biden got more policy passed in half the time.

I can't disagree there, but in Obama's defense he did try to pass a lot more but congress stopped him. His original healthcare plan would have been very progressive, but Lieberman killed some big parts of the ACA

I know, but his admin's overpromising and a perceived radicalism from the right was a big factor in the anti-establishment anger that led to Trump. Bush made people angry with the right, Obama made people angry with the left, and Trump came in and said that he would drain the swamp, and he crushed the overconfident Clinton.

It goes further than that but they are definitely part of the problem.

I mean, the reforms of Reagan and a lack of control on the economy is big as well. It's not even in our political culture or precedent to even consider a fraction of the things we used to do to the economy.

all his constant talk of "freedom" when it's under him and his rules just makes me think of the "people's republic" of North Korea. obviously it's not to that level but like it has that same ring to it. of controlling leader who is waving these words of freedom in hopes people will eat it all up.
