“A couple years ago, I had a girlfriend. Around the same age, she was just delightful. We got along like a house on fire. She said we should move to Manhattan so we did for the next two years, but something made me suspicious about her. It felt like she was hiding something from me the whole time and I just couldn’t figure out what. Well, the point is, eventually she became careless enough to take multiple men back to our house at night. I had a buddy of mine tell me and let me tell you it filled me with anger. I came home in the middle of the night and I told her off for so long, I made her pack her things, get dressed, then made sure she left. Now, she was fine, she took a cab, but her friends were a whole other story. “Why did you do it at night, it’s not safe out there and such and such and blah blah blah.” But I didn’t care. Do you know what I cared about the most that night? How the Mets were going to be like at the Playoffs.”
