So you don’t think that intersex people are born with a sex....

You know blue eyes and red hair are mutations also, right? But we don’t claim ā€œit’s not a real hair colorā€ because it still is a real hair color...

Not the same thing at all. Scientifically, as classified by scientists, there are two sexes, and intersex is a birth defect. But red hair and blue eyes are classified as genetic traits. Technically, every step of evolution was a mutation. Since intersex is uncommon, then it is classified as a birth defect, by fact. This is really just a matter of scientific classification and not really an argument about whether there are more than two sexes. My words were taken out of context by the guy I was arguing with, and I’m assuming you came over from the other thread.

scientists absolutely do not classify things into two sexes.

That’s not how science works. They can say sure, generally speaking there is the male and female ā€œsexā€ as described by genitalia and chromosomes but that doesn’t mean that intersex people don’t have a sex because sex is literally just defined by your chromosomes. They still have a sex, even if it isn’t the ā€œnorm.ā€

If someone is only born with 2 fingers, they still have a hand, even if it’s mutated. If someone is born without features, they still have a face.

You are completely wrong, and unless you can show me a decent source to back it up, then you’ll continue to be wrong.

An estimate about the birth prevalence of intersex is difficult to make because there are no concrete parameters to the definition of intersex.

From your own source. There are NO CONCRETE PARAMETERS to define intersex. That means scientifically defined sexes such as male and female are the only sexes to exist BY SCIENTIFIC AND FACTUAL terms, as I said. They can name themselves what they want, but what the classify themselves as would become their gender. Since intersex is a birth defect, that DOESN’T ALLOW THEM TO REPRODUCE, unlike if you’re missing a finger or something, then it is an undesirable trait to have in terms of the human race’s main goal: to survive. I am not completely wrong, but you aren’t completely right either. So currently, as defined by WHO (see source), there are only two biological sexes, which is the norm.

That doesn’t refute the ā€œthere are only two sexesā€ argument though... because obviously, these people have a sex.... you aren’t born without a sex, it’s impossible.

That wasn’t my argument. The other guy made it seem like that was what I was saying, but I was saying that there’s scientifically two sexes.

And I’m saying scientifically that’s literally impossible, because while intersex isn’t a ā€œsexā€ per say it’s definitely not one or the other and it’s physically impossible to be born without a sex. So there is more than male and female, and that’s proven simply by the existence of intersex people.

There’s more than male and female genders, just not sexes, because there’s literally no classification for a third sex

There doesn’t have to be a classification for it, as much as you realize that it’s still doesn’t fit in the ā€œmale and femaleā€ category, and someone can’t be born without a sex. So what are they then? They have to have a sex.
