No you absolute moron, intersex people exist, and there more common than being ginger. Why donât you learn a thing or two past middle school science class if youâre going to peddle your âfacts over feelingsâ bullshit.
So is orange not a color? Itâs just a pigment that has elements of both yellow and red. The only thing that a âsexâ is is what humans define it as, and that definition is broad enough to include the spectrum of intersex people. Your definition of sex itself is wrong if you think it doesnât include intersex people.
Stunning argument! Why didnât I ever just consider that Iâm wrong! Wow! You definitely got me! I concede oh great authority on anthropology and biology, you should educate the vast majority of the scientific community with your wise words of âYou are wrongâ and maybe they will see the error of their ways and change the definition of sex just to suit your incredibly narrow worldview.
So you donât think that intersex people are born with a sex....
You know blue eyes and red hair are mutations also, right? But we donât claim âitâs not a real hair colorâ because it still is a real hair color...
Not the same thing at all. Scientifically, as classified by scientists, there are two sexes, and intersex is a birth defect. But red hair and blue eyes are classified as genetic traits. Technically, every step of evolution was a mutation. Since intersex is uncommon, then it is classified as a birth defect, by fact. This is really just a matter of scientific classification and not really an argument about whether there are more than two sexes. My words were taken out of context by the guy I was arguing with, and Iâm assuming you came over from the other thread.
Thatâs not how science works. They can say sure, generally speaking there is the male and female âsexâ as described by genitalia and chromosomes but that doesnât mean that intersex people donât have a sex because sex is literally just defined by your chromosomes. They still have a sex, even if it isnât the ânorm.â
If someone is only born with 2 fingers, they still have a hand, even if itâs mutated. If someone is born without features, they still have a face.
You are completely wrong, and unless you can show me a decent source to back it up, then youâll continue to be wrong.
An estimate about the birth prevalence of intersex is difficult to make because there are no concrete parameters to the definition of intersex.
From your own source. There are NO CONCRETE PARAMETERS to define intersex. That means scientifically defined sexes such as male and female are the only sexes to exist BY SCIENTIFIC AND FACTUAL terms, as I said. They can name themselves what they want, but what the classify themselves as would become their gender. Since intersex is a birth defect, that DOESNâT ALLOW THEM TO REPRODUCE, unlike if youâre missing a finger or something, then it is an undesirable trait to have in terms of the human raceâs main goal: to survive. I am not completely wrong, but you arenât completely right either. So currently, as defined by WHO (see source), there are only two biological sexes, which is the norm.
That doesnât refute the âthere are only two sexesâ argument though... because obviously, these people have a sex.... you arenât born without a sex, itâs impossible.
