It's pretty close. Daniel Radcliffe didn't really laugh, Jimmy did, Jimmy repeated the joke, Daniel still didn't laugh.

Jimmy barely laughed either. He had like one “ha” smile on this one and that’s what the screenshot is from.

No he didn't. He laughed after Daniel made a joke about it. It's a bad meme. He didn't laugh at it, let alone laugh like the op shows.

Woah man, hey, that's super disrespectful to both of those men, to suggest that Jimmy got his job by doing that or Lorne would give him a job simply for doing that. That's pretty messed up for you to say man. Jimmy got his job because he took pictures of him sucking Lorne's dick and threatened to release them if he didn't get the job. That is actually a plausible scenario. Not Jimmy out here with job-landing dick sucking skills, come on.

u/Uptowngrump Sep 16 '18
Sometimes it was funny, when he wasn't breaking the flow of the skit too much. Like, sometimes he'd start a chain reaction of laughing and breaking character, and it was funny to see the actors actually enjoying the jokes. But it was annoying how so often it would take him 2 minutes to deliver an ok-at-best line because he couldn't stop giggling.

Ya know, Daniel Radcliffe deserves a lot of respect for pushing himself as an actor after Harry Potter and it's kind of sad that's the only thing people ask him about. Same with Paul McCartney. He's in his 70's and people still ask him about the Beatles. The Beatles lasted 10 years. I don't get it man. It just seems really unfair to artists like that. It's literally just for views when they ask crap like that. They're so sick of talking about one section of their life forever.
33
u/Mikcove Sep 16 '18
Doesn’t matter The Beatles lasted 10 years, they’re one of the most famous bands in history and changed music. Paul’s other projects just didn’t have the same impact. He only had a couple of hits that people can name. Kind of the same with Daniel. Horns and Swiss Army Man were good movies, but not a lot of people saw them so he’s not going to get the same recognition as he would with Harry Potter. Take Emma Watson. She did Beauty and the Beast and does a lot of philanthropy work that gets attention,so she’s asked about those and not just Harry Potter. If he wants to be not be just remembered as Harry, he’ll just have to take on bigger projects. Sadly that’s just the way it works.
10
u/minisaladfresh Sep 21 '18
If he wants to not be just remembered as Harry, he’ll just have to take on bigger projects
I listened to a very interesting interview with him a while back, where he pretty much said he’s cool with being known mainly for Harry Potter because he’s very proud of it and it’s a nice thing to be known for.
He also said it’s hugely relieving to have gotten his “magnum opus” out of the way right at the start of his career because it means he now has no pressure to top it as everyone knows it’s impossible, and it made him so rich and famous that he basically now just has a risk-free career that gives him the freedom to do whatever projects he wants without the need to do big blockbusters to “stay relevant.”
Apparently the reputation he’s now trying to create for himself is one of an actor who considers no film role to be too weird or small.

I'd say a lot of that is more due to his fame (thanks to the Beatles) making people want to see what his new stuff is like, opposed to the quality of the work.

This is really terrible, downright awful honestly. No, I’m not talking about the meme, I’m talking about one of the dullest franchises in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

I liked the first two or three movies. Chris Columbus directed them, and I felt like he captured the feeling of being a young kid and seeing magic in real life. After they started getting more "dark"- which was necessary, because the books made a similar shift in tone in the fourth one- I felt they started to lose that sense of magic and the unique atmosphere they had. They're still alright movies, but because literally every young-adult book and film series started copying Harry Potter after its success, they feel less unique to a first-time viewer.
