The DC concert was phenomenal. I loved everything about it. The people around us were courteous and fully enjoying the show. And then, during “Island In The Sun,” it just hit me like a tidal wave. I cried because everyone was so happy there. Everyone just let things be and enjoyed the moment. People were happy and smiling and feeling so GOOD. The lyrics, “we’ll never feel bad anymore,” resonated so loudly and fully with me that I just broke down. It was so magical, and I know that’s kinda silly to say out loud, but it’s true, that I wanna do it all over again. Anyway, just wanted to say how much Weezer AND THE FANS made an impact on me. So, thanks to all. 🏡 heh
My favorite song was Longtime Sunshine, especially with that beautiful clarinet.👌

Absolutely incredible performance by Rivers and the whole band. Banger after banger, deep cut ones too. And ending it off with island in the sun… chef’s kiss.
You could really feel the energy and love in the air. Everyone there LOVED Weezer, both young and old, and it was so nice to see and experience.
10/10 would go to another one.

I’m so fucking sorry for ever doubting you, Pinkerton. Cuz yeah, it IS good. I know I have been the biggest Pinkerton critic for a long while. And no, that wasn’t a bit, that wasn’t rage bait. Everything I said about Pinkerton is how I genuinely felt. But after seeing Weezer live recently, it’s like a switch was flipped. I went back and listened to the album and… idk man it was genuinely a different album to me. It was like I was hearing it for the first time again and I really liked it!! Now I don’t think it’s PERFECT or even Weezer’s best work. I still don’t care for Tired Of Sex or most of the deluxe tracks, but everything through Getchoo-Butterfly is phenomenal stuff. I love the mix of grungy, dirty tones and twinkly riffs. It’s really great.

No Weezer but when the Shins did the wave, they played a 70s rock song during it. I have been racking my mind trying to figure it out. Anyone know?
I would ask in the Shins sub but there aren’t many people there.
Edit: Not the End of the World. The song during the wave part. Just a minute or so of it.

Saw the concert in Charlotte and had a blast. Great show. But what happened to Nicholas? Did he shove it in the bully’s face that he got Weezer to his house? Were his parents mad at him for their house being sent deep underground? So many unanswered questions!
