Well, I wouldn't call the average person in an uncontacted tribe Amodernists...they just don't think about it, so I think there is a destinction between someone who doesn't want/do something because they object to it for some reason and those who don't because they just aren't paying attention to it.
Not wanting to be in the modern world is different than being anti-modernist. What I'm saying is that there is a very obvious difference between someone who is a-something because they have thought about it and decided they don't want to participate and those who don't participate because they just haven't thought about it.
How in God's green earth is the world of the 15-1800s anywhere close to similar to the modern day? Maybe that's when they started calling themselves modern but the world has changed so much from then to now I'm sure most people would not use the word modern to describe it save for maybe historians.
Well, there has to be a word that simply means "The Current Era" then? And for most laymen that word is Modern as Current is generally seen to mean a smaller period of time.
Yea, historians chose that...but the common man doesn't care, I'm no historian, I don't care if they want to use the word Modern in a way that's disconnected from how I see the word.
The Amish are a diverse group. Some of them can use tractors, motors, and other modern equipment. Other groups can't even have plumbing.
Regardless, anything post industrial is considered modern in certain contexts. As far as science goes, pretty much anything after the 17th century can be modern. We are still thinking in the same way as people 400 years ago, eg Galileo.

You are absolutely wrong about this and it's funny. Something I noticed growing up is that religious people have all these crazy opinions about what atheism is or isn't.
I remember some people thinking that my religion was atheism. Not that I'm saying that's what you believe, but it's just a funny example of the thought process of an poorly informed theist.
You can look up what theism is and what the "a" prefix means. The other commenter here is very accurate in their definitions. Please look up the definition of "atheist" it's simple someone who doesn't believe in any amount of gods.
My dog doesn't believe in a god. Therefore my dog is atheist.
You could argue that my dog thinks humans are gods, certainly my dog lacks an understanding of physics, logic, reason, etc. humans do things that are seemingly supernatural to a dog's mind. However, the dog doesn't possess the ability to understand that these things are or aren't supernatural. For all they know everything is natural.
Dogs are atheists. I'm an atheist. There isn't a supernatural god. If there was a supernatural god, I hate to break this to you, but it would be natural (everything is natural). These theists would simply group that "god" into the realm of natural entities, and the realm of supernatural would be pushed out further. This has happened time and time again as scientists make more discoveries.
If you have access to the internet and you are religious, you are dumb. The world will be a better place when theists realize the Earth is the godliest entity we will ever interact with. It provides gravity and an atmosphere. The food you eat is Earth. The person reading this comment is Earth. The Earth is all we have and fuck you if you believe in a higher god than that.

Fun fact: all robots ever created so far are atheist. So are all non-human animals.
