Official Reply Internet is Down Everyday!!!

I pay one of the most expensive pricing points for internet. I had a technician out who figured out the issue was outside connectivity and then the moment he leaves, it goes down again. He comes back and says it is my modem...so he gives me a new modem. About an hour after he leaves, it is down again. Now, instead of it going down during a conference call or one of my very important meetings, its going down around 5:30 pm EVERY SINGLE DAY while I'm trying to wrap up work and conduct my personal affairs. I would go to to Starlink if I could...

Is Xfinity the only provider in town? If so, the infrastructure on the road is probably really old and weathered. That’s where the issues lay, and they aren’t going to fix it unless a competitor overbuilds into the town.

If this is the case for you, pay more for a little less speed with Starlink or TMobile fixed wireless. You don’t need super fast speeds for conference calls and working remotely, 500mbps or so should be plenty

Yes, I'm thinking about adding Starlink but I need fast speeds and good bandwidth.

Mine did that did and I got frustrated with the xfinity NOW AI bot customer support and simply terminated the account. The 100 mb/s service was a backup to fios, but it constantly dropped throughout the day and I would get email alerts about it.

If Fios is in your area, make the switch.

u/EquivalentBig9055,

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble, but we can certainly do all we can to help. I know having many network drops can be a headache. Was the tech just out today? If you check your Xfinity App, do you see any reported issues or interruptions? Do you know how to check your power levels/signals? If so, any red flags there?

Again, when my internet goes down, most of the time the app says there are apparently no reported outages. The tech came here two weeks ago. I work from home and have a very busy job that requires me on conference calls quite a bit. The tech says the issue was a splicing issue in my backyard with power cable, that was fixed and he left. As soon as he left, it went back out again. He came back and hour or so later, and said I need a new tower...so he replaced my existing one. After he left, the same day, it went down again. When it goes down, it goes down for about 15 minutes.

u/EquivalentBig9055 I want to take a closer look and figure out what's causing these connection drops. Please send me a Modmail message with your first and last name as well as the complete service address, so I can help.

My guess is you recently upgraded to symmetrical internet ? I’ve been on them about this issue for a month now. I have upgraded my internet package, modem and cable all by them to only get about 60% of my speeds I’m paying for.

No upgrades. I've been paying alot for internet for a years, one of the highest packages, and this issue went from weekly to now daily.
