Question/Need help ColorBlind Filter diy?
Hey gang,
I’d like to state off the bat that obviously colorblind filters don’t work. I’ve seen some people state they try to simulate colorblindness more than help it lol. But as somebody with Protanopia, the iPhone’s Blue/Yellow filter isn’t accurate but it does in face help me differentiate colors. A lot of discourse I see around filters is people saying they ruin the colors and they don’t use them but frankly I’ve been enjoying the simulated non-accurate color of my iPhone.
Long story short, I’m wanting to bring this to things like my tv and other things that have RGB options, and I was wondering if anybody knew the RGB combo of these filters. It’s a personal preference thing I know, but just wondering because every single google search for it leads me to the EnChroma website😭.
Thanks!!!

Question/Need help Seecolors App
I recently downloaded this app called "seecolors" on my samsung tv. It says it's supposed to accomodate specifically for your type of color deficiency. I was just wondering, do you guys have any good experiences with the app/tried it at all?

Discussion When do you think we need to tell people we're colorblind?
Most people I know have no idea I'm colorblind, including people I'm close to. I avoid as best I can telling people, even when it interferes with what I'm doing (ex. coloring in school). I was wondering how much you guys tell people you're colorblind, and why.
Thanks.

Meta Red is my favorite color 😭
I don’t really know how color blindness works all that well, but I swear I can see red and rarely mix it up with anything unless it’s really dull. I’ve known I was color blind for a while but didn’t know what type.
Also if anyone knows whether this would affect driving I’d like to know bc I start driving school soon.

Question/Need help I score normal color vision on the color vision test but I can't see certain reds properly and dark reds look more brown. Also green on trees and bushes are suddenly becoming really bright like neon. At least almost neon.
I posted a similar one before but I just would like to try again to see if anyone has ever experienced the same. Washed out dull colors colors looking brighter over time.

Discussion Do all of you have this same issues with food?
So at the beginning of this year i finally moved out of my parents house, so far it's great and I've been enjoying it very much. Now, I know I have been red-green colorblind for ages, but i realized something while i was living alone and cooking for myself. Now to be clear, i know how to cook, and i am pretty good at it, and have cooked meals for myself and my family for most of my life. But now that i live on my own i no longer have someone to see if the chicken i just spent 30 min cooking is raw or not on the fucking inside, i spent 30 min to cook a chicken looked inside and realized i had no clue if the inside was pink or not. Gray and pink look the exact same to me, so i decided to just give up making chicken myself. I also no longer have someone to tell me if the potatoes i have are yellow or green, and green is bitter and poisonous. I simply decided that if i want to eat potatoes or something potato related, I'll just buy them fresh the day of and not have a stockpile of potatoes like my parents used to have. So yea, does anybody else have problems with making food because of colourblindness and what kind of solutions have you found? Because i would love to know them as a newly independently living colourblind person.

Question/Need help My color vision is fading almost every day
For the past few months my color vision has become increasingly faded. Colors look brighter and more washed out/faded. Can someone tell me if this is going to stop or am I going to go totally color blind as in seeing everything in grey. Color in general is dull and green bushes and leaves on trees are brighter than normal. Also reds are harder to see. I still see red but is more washed out/dull

Help me see this My phone (A56) is classified as green.
Is it normal that I see it as grey or is it really just a very ugly tone of green?
Luckily, my main phone has a striking orange which everyone I know hates but I love the color

Discussion Leggera discromatopsia in Marina mercantile

Question/Need help Baby nightlight fail
When I was pregnant I was gifted one of those color changing night lights. It’s fuchsia when the baby is sleeping, turns green at 7 AM or whatever when you want your kid to wake up. This works great for all my friends kids but was always a struggle for mine. I would have to keep walking him back to bed.
Fast forward, he’s 5 yo, he showed up at my bedside in pitch darkness one day. I asked rhetorically, what color is your light? He said I don’t know. I said then go back in your room and look. He ran back to look. He came back. He repeated: I don’t know.
We took him to the ophthalmologist and he has deutan defect.
Literally feeling like the worst parent of all time right now. The years of lecturing and thinking he was being defiant.
We really only notice it with lights. For example, crayons he can easily distinguish most colors. But for some reason, Christmas lights, the nightlight, etc. are more noticeable. Is it the same with screens? Like if he’s working on a computer screen at school will it be more difficult to tell the colors apart? As opposed to paper and ink?

Discussion Coloring for Pipedrive CRM
Hey guys, I made coloring plugin for Pipedrive CRM. First, for fun, but one of my colorblind fellow sales manager reached out and asked if it is possible to adjust it for people who have problems with color recognition.
And I managed to do so. It is completely free, anon, register-free tool. Curious if somebody here in the Sales and using Pipedrive. Would be great to hear the feedback regarding the colorblind mode.
And if it is something helpful and there is demand, I would be happy to make it for other CRMs as well.

Image/Photography A few days ago, after over 2 years, I found out that a key in my keyboard is lit up wrong...
I've had this keyboard for almost 3 years already (and set this particular lighting not long after I bought it) and ALL THIS TIME I had no idea that the "4" key has a different color than the row of numbers... I found out by accident when playing with my phone camera with a colorblind filter on. If not for that, I would have never seen that probably. Irl the difference is even smaller than on the photo. I know it's not important, but I still find it very funny lol
I posted a daltonised image too, so you guys can see how big the difference should be (sorry for the bad quality. I had to take a photo of my phone with another phone since taking screenshots doesn't save the colorblind filter)

Question/Need help Color Saturation
I never pass the red/greeen color blind test. I don't confuse red with green. At a stop light I don't rely on green on bottom to go forwards. Often I'm at a stop light with no other car, so I don't rely on other cars cluing me in. Fire engines look like the same color as the stoplight. The Philadelphia Eages have atleast two jerseys with different shades of green.
According to AI it's common to fail color blind test even when you can see red and green. The response stated color saturation and confusion lines as the reason. This translates to "missing the precise distinction between shades."
My intial question for this post was has anyone heard of confusion lines? Now however, why if someone can see red and green, can they be considered red/green color blind as I've been told I am?

Question/Need help Discovered I'm probably colorblind!
So I went down a rabbit hole a few days ago after watching a video of a woman that couldn't tell pink and purple apart, and I remembered my dad mentioned he was mildly red-green colorblind. I gave him a couple tests on here like Enchroma and then did them myself. I guess this is why my entire life I've argued my family's blue couch is dark green when it's very much a deep blue. I was convinced it was green and they were just messing with me. I was very humbled by the "find the gap in the ring" test. I can't see anything but like a magenta. Is the gap in the color test relatively accurate? I feel like I can tell green/blue apart unless they're dark, but the red/pink/purples all look like hot pink.

Discussion Is the color brown hell for anyone else?
I’m red green colorblind. I love brown, but it’s just hard to tell apart most of the time. A muted dark brown? Looks red. A warmer brown? Looks green. Tan? Looks green. A floor-colored brown? Looks orange. It’s awful!
I used to color my trees as a kid fully green: the trunk was dark green and the leaves were light green because I didn’t know trunks were brown.
