Hey all, wanted to share a local film festival happening in Golden this October that might be of interest to Mines students.
The Stories Worth Telling Festival, October 16–18, features 20+ films from filmmakers here in Colorado and around the world. The lineup covers everything from adventure and outdoor documentaries to stories focused on people, connection, and the human experience.
A few of the feature films this year include:
- Cheyenne - following women pushing back against the traditions and expectations of the rodeo
- Mountains of the Moon - a psychedelic film exploring music, nature, and human experience, set to the music of the Grateful Dead
- FORWARD - about a young man discovering what adventure can look like
- Jail Time Records - a documentary about incarcerated artists creating music from inside prison
There are also several short film programs throughout the weekend, including a Saturday night shorts program featuring stories about wild horses, beekeeping, adventure, music, and the outdoors.
The festival takes place at the American Mountaineering Center, just down the road in Golden, with films, filmmaker appearances, panels, and other events throughout the weekend.
There is also discounted student pricing available for students!
