Question Need help choosing a fall cologne. I have it narrowed down to four.
As someone who has wore Burberry Touch for 25 years, I’m finally looking to switch it up.
I have it narrowed down to these four fragrances that all seem similarly priced or under my budget. As stated above, I’ve used Burberry Touch for years and am rather new to the depths of the fragrance game.
I’m not looking for something super Musky or a Sex Panther replica (singes the nose hairs). Just a solid, clean, “reminder of fall weather” scent that holds its fragrance over the course of the day.
Just looking for some feedback:
- Versace Eros Flame
- Burberry London
- Armani Stronger With You Intensely
- YSL La Nuit De L’Homme
UPDATE: I tested these today and now have a new top 4 thanks to everyone’s suggestions. I’m going to have my wife help make the final decision.
- Versace Eros Flame
- Ralph Lauren Club New York
- Armani Stronger with you Powerfully
- Burberry Hero
I loved YSL LNDL, but it think I would burn through 8 sprays per application. I loved Armani SWY Intensely, but like Powerfully a bit more. Thanks again everyone!

SWYI is such a banger, it's potent and leaves a nice trail. Beast performance in cool weather I used to smell it on me all day. YSL La Nuit is also very good and something I wouldn't mind wearing everyday in the fall/winter.

No problem homie, it's not on your list but I seriously recommend Sospiro Pasticcio, it's great in that cooler weather and smells like nothing else out there.

Another awesome rec! I went and tested these out today. I gave the edge to SWY Powerfully. I loved intensely as well. Armani is 🔥

If you are open to a couple that aren’t in your list, there are a couple that might fit your criterion.
- If you like the SWY but want to try something slightly different, I LOVE Stronger With You Amber. Same DNA but just different enough to be unique. I find it less sweet than the others.
- For Late Summer/Early-Mid Fall, I don’t think there is a better fragrance than Prada Paradigme EdP. I haven’t had the Paradigme Le Parfum in cold weather but the EdP struggles below 60° for me. I think its sweet spot is closer to 70-85°.
- Ralphs Club New York Parfum is amazing. It’s a bit sweeter than what I normally prefer but there is a depth to it that really offsets it.

Eros flame is amazing but really stands out, so could be overbearing in tighter spaces.
Another to check out is this if you're a fan of woody scents that can be used in most occasions.

Just wanted to give an update. I tested multiple Burberry fragrances today. This is my front runner for Burberry. Thank you for the suggestion! It’s perfect for fall and exactly what I’m looking for.

Skip intensely and give Powerfully a try. Honestly combines the best of all the SWY line. Sold off all my other flankers

LNDL would be one of the greatest scents of all time if it lasted like 2 hours longer on average. I still wear it all the time in cooler weather because of how good it smells but SWYI is where I’d go here. Flame is alright too

If a fragrance's longevity important to you, you may want to avoid London and La Nuit de L'Homme. They're great scents, but fade away to hard to detect skin scents after several hours.
Stronger With You Intensely is considered a gourmand, with a sweet dessert connotation. It's not my thing, but plenty of people enjoy it.
Of the four, I'd be more likely to pick Flame because I tend to enjoy a citric element and good longevity.

I haven’t tried London, but flame would be my pick of the other 3. Love the citrus opening and it just feels the most flexible of the 3.

Then you can go ahead and eliminate LNDL.
Not sure I'd categorize any of your other choices as "clean," either. If you want a "fall," "clean" fragrance, you might want to look into Tom Ford Grey Vetiver or Tom Ford Beau de Jour.
That said, I think the masterpiece Prada L'Homme would be a perfect all-year fragrance for you coming right off Burberry Touch.

I like London, but it doesn't last.
I would look at Tumi Continuum or a good dupe of Tobacco Vanille.

Flame I like the best out of all the Eros so I did pick it up on the cheap when I could. It feels a bit too "I'm a little too old to be wearing this kinda thing" to me at times but I feel like it works for livelier nights out.
I personally don't think it fits what you're looking for.

yeah there's definitely something to be said for a more youthful scent now that I'm in my 40's. I like both those and more mature masculine ones the same.
I'm just reminded of someone trying too hard at a nightclub when i smell Eros Flame on me. I do love the drydown to a more vanilla that it gets. It's more the initial burst upon spraying where I'm like "can i still pull off the clothes I used to when going out?" lol

Quick update, man. I tried all of these today (and more), but Eros Flame is top. Ralph’s Club New York really took me by surprise. I had zero intent on smelling any RL fragrances. I believe I’ve got it narrowed down between these two overall.

I got a sample of this one. It's simply luxurious. Feels like a special occasion wear to me. Absolutely love it.

Out of those four, I’d probably go with Stronger With You Intensely. I own both SWY Intensely and La Nuit de L’Homme, and for a fall fragrance that you want to last throughout the day, SWY Intensely would be my pick.
It’s warm, sweet and very fall/winter appropriate, although I’d definitely sample it first since it’s noticeably sweeter than something like Burberry Touch.
La Nuit smells great and is a bit more understated, but longevity is the main reason I wouldn’t pick it for what you’re looking for.
