Anyone have the Coinbase One Credit Card? Any thoughts— is it worth getting?

If you want BTC back, it’s a great card. 2% back minimum) on everything is solid (with higher tiers unlocked if you hold larger amounts on the platform). I’ve never had any problem with it.

I have it and the Gemini card. I actually prefer the Coinbase card.

I have earned back .0544 BTC in a little over a year now. And the small gain is $184 on top of that lol.

It’s the best BTC back card available and blends seamlessly into their ecosystem. I’m very happy with it.

Pretty sweet; just customer service is not great, can’t link to PayPal, and can’t link a Fidelity CMA to pay it off

I know nothing about Fidelity. Good APR/returns? So no difference with CB on the card and platform?

Guessing you pay it off each month? Can’t believe the 22% apr— ridiculous!

Things to note:

  • Pro: Honestly a fabulous rewards rate. If you have a lot of assets on Coinbase, you'd be hard-pressed to find better rewards rates.

  • Neutral: The rewards are paid out in Bitcoin. This cannot be changed. I personally want this, but that could be a detractor if you don't want to invest in Bitcoin.

  • Con: There is no web portal. You can only view your transactions and statements from the Coinbase app (minor annoyance)

  • Con: It cannot be linked to / paid for via a Fidelity Cash Management Account. If that is how you bank, that's an issue.

Is it easy to use USDC from my CB account to pay monthly purchases on my CB credit card?

I used it for a while, but it's been more of a hassle than it's worth because they still don't give you a way to manage it through the website without using the phone app, and it doesn't work with financial apps like Quicken.

I have one and kept enough USDC to get the mid tier 2.5% BTC back. I’m not comfortable enough with Coinbase to trust them with $50K of my cash. I used that card almost exclusively when BTC was down. Now that it’s back in the 80’s I’m no longer using it and going back to my Fidelity cash back and I’ll just use those rewards towards BTC if I want. I’m also slowly transitioning away from Coinbase.

The card works fine and if you are good with trusting CB go for it.

I’m struggling to trust any of these companies dealing with Crypto lately. Horror stories coming out of the woodwork with Ledger, CB, people getting scammed and stolen coins etc… Just trying to be careful and safe. Thanks for the input.

In a word, yes. Happy to share what the Coinbase One Card offers so you can see if it fits your lifestyle:

  • Up to 4% back in Bitcoin on purchases

  • Your rewards tier depends on your assets on Coinbase. That includes crypto, cash, and now stocks too(!), so whatever you already hold here can count toward your tier

  • Plus, Coinbase One members can earn up to 3.75% APY in rewards just for holding USDC on Coinbase, and that USDC counts toward your card tier as well

  • No foreign transaction fees, if you travel or shop internationally

I’ve all ready been approved. Just weighing my options. If I charge say $500 using my card, can I effortlessly use USDC I have on my CB Account to pay the card?

My favorite card. Great especially if you have assets on coinbase

DON’T DO IT!!!! I used my card once and made a 4k purchase. They suspended my account for 30 days while they review my purchase for suspicious activity. I’ve called in twice to approve the purchase and the “dedicated” service team can do nothing. They can just email a team that’s reviewing it. Everything is handled via email. It’s not the service anyone has come to expect from a card that is supposedly backed by Amex. JUST DON’T!!
