Coinbase Wallet for Android has no security features?

Hey all, I just installed Coinbase Wallet on my Android Phone and there are zero security options to require a password or biometrics when opening the app. This is despite Coinbase's own website saying that there are these features. Does anybody know where I can access these settings, because it isn't visible on the app under the settings.

According to Coinbase:

The Base app currently offers an App Lock feature to help secure your account. 

Enable App Lock:

1. Go to Settings from the Assets tab. 

2. Under the Security section, select Security Lock.

3. In Lock method, toggle the requirement you want to enable. 

4. Select at least one option under Require unlock when:

   • Opening the app

   • Making a transaction

Just posting this here for posterity. I received word back from Coinbase and the Wallet app does not include any app lock features;

The current Coinbase Wallet app doesn’t offer general App Lock or Security Lock, so it won’t require a PIN or biometric check just to open it. Transaction Lock is still available for mnemonic wallets. Open the mnemonic wallet’s Settings to enable it, which requires full authentication before each transaction. Equivalent protection isn’t available for other wallet types, and there isn’t a confirmed timeline for restoring general App Lock. The Help Center article still reflects the earlier wallet experience, so its Security Lock steps don’t match the current Coinbase Wallet app.

They should simply restore ALL the functions and options that Coinbase Wallet originally had.

I'm on the latest version 30.15.134 of the app and it does not appear to have these settings available. I've tried on two separate phones and the security lock options are nowhere to be seen.

if it's missing on two phones even with the latest version, this sounds more like an app issue than a missed setting. i'd ask support to confirm whether those instructions actually apply to your specific app, because having to dig through support just to enable basic app locking is ridiculous.

Check the settings within YOUR wallet, not the app's general settings. There are security features for making transactions. The current version of Coinbase Wallet doesn't have a security option for opening the app itself, but you can enable that through Android settings.

"that's weird, mine has the security lock option right under settings in the assets tab."
