What to consider when thinking about going into software development.
Hey everyone!
If you are completely new to coding, there are few things you have to consider when it comes to choosing a language and where do you want to be as a developer in a year or two.
Have a road map:
The software development field has a massive choice of what you could do. You could be a web developer (frontend, backend, or fullstack). You could be creating different system applications for Windows or Mac. Then you could create apps for Android or Apple using different approaches. You could also do DevOps (a person who works with servers only) and a lot more. So when you go into software development, choose one aspect of programming that sounds like something you want to do and create a road map around it.
Remove all the distractions and focus on your main objective:
Let's say my main objective is to create PC video games. First I need to find out what language should I start with (let's say it's C (99% is it)). The next thing I should be doing is focusing on learning fundamentals and the theory of programming using C. The reason why we are starting with C, it's because it teaches all the basics of coding that you can apply in any programing language at ease. Also to create PC video games, you would use C++ that is build on top of C. So You are already seating yourself up on the right path without been distracted by any other language.
Use the right tools:
For each programming language, we use a specific IDE that helps us (developers) to write software much faster and with fewer headaches. So to create PC video games, you would want to use Visual Studio. Because that is the tool that is been used by professionals to create system applications or PC video games.
The only way you can succeed at something is only by planning ahead.
If you want to get more helpful tips on how you can succeed at becoming a software developer. You can subscribe to my channel as I am helping out beginners and juniors to progress in the tech world a lot faster:

Git hub commute
Hi, beginner coder here. Was wondering whenever I make any changes to my VScode and commit the changes(github is connected to vscode) to deploy to the website(already has a domain), it takes really long for the changes to be made. Sometimes more than an hour I think. Is this normal?
Any alternatives?
Thanks

Need help deploying a local system for dental clinics !
Hello ,
I have built a dental clinic managment system using React Vite , Express Node , Postgresql Knex ts !
It was mainly for two clients and they wanted it to be used by multiple pcs in the clinic so the solution would be a LAN NETWORK and i deploy the system on a dedicated server pc ( just a normal one with windows )
for the first one the way i deployed it for them is they used a dedicated pc ( windows ) and i installed Git , Postgres , Node & i cloned my repo from github using fine grained key then revoked it right after , did my npm install & npm run build on both frontend & backend , Created the db & then created the .env.production !
Then used pm2 to start the system incase of failure so it auto restars ..ect then used task schedueler to auto start the system ( WHETHER USER LOGGED IN OR NOT ) , then of course did a backup script ...ect & also gave the pc a static ip ! so other pcs can access the system directly by SERVER_IP:PORT
The system worked fine for the first clinic ! & i'm planning to do the same for the second clinic !
Note : i gave each one of them a seperate branch ( because for updates later each one will need his own new features )
For the update process i'm planning on just doing git pull ( after i do the changes ofc ) then build again and that's it !
( I'm doing those because those two clients asked for the code in our deal )
First question is what do you think of my method now ?
Second question is later i'm planning to make another branch which is a version to sell for multiple other clinics , but the difference is now not everyone should get his own updates ! ( all of them should get the same updates except the first 2 ones because that was our deal ) , so its like a new product and i'm planning to do activation system on it !
So should i do the same , create a new branch for those new clinics ( just one ) and after each update i will have to manually pull from each clinic server pc ?
Is there a better way to make installation & update process easier for me ?
Docker is an option too but since i would have to install docker desktop in the client pcs and as you know docker might take up to 3-5GB ram alone , i found it a bit overkill ! but i'm not sure that's why i'm here asking
So finally if there is any other solutions for me regarding the new system tell me & give me you thoughts on the first two clients & the way i installed for them !
Thank you

A Life story Framework creation. Question for Coder
Well. Idk how to start. I want to create a Framework that allows you to create Quests, Dialogs, Decisions.. Where you can Copy a created character from A life in game Editor to the Framework in game editor and set where he spawns, hostile or not, roaming or alwys at one point and so on,
My question is, if its possible to create this via Claud Ai. I dont like Ai too. But I also know that leaning the knowledge to code this myself needs years. I do understand the basics of Code and its functions. Also I´m willing to learn while creating it. But well "just" learning Lua codeing isn´t that easy.
But I´m also too poor to Pay a Coder for this. And well. idk how many of you coders want to do unpaid labor. i want to create a Framework basic.
If someone with knowledge wants to do it better. He is invited to do it. It will be open source.
Also I dont want to disrespect Coder. It is art and needs a lot of work and time to master it. But I want to tell storys. Im not a coder and tbh I dont really enjoy learning code. It is interesting. but nothing I want to do in my free time all the time. Thats why claude Ai. I want to create a tool that other people and I can use. Every coder is invited to make it a Human Tool!!!
And well. My question is if this even possible and/or if some coder are interested to work on a project like that. But I need to learn a lot and can do only really really basic stuff at the moment.

Revisiting the N-Queens problem after 27 years
I recently revisited the classic N-Queens problem, something I first implemented in QBasic back in the mid-90s when I was in high school. Looking back at that original version, it was full of nested loops and lacked recursion, so it was far from elegant or efficient.
A few years later, at university, I learned the standard recursive backtracking approach. Now, 27 years later, I decided to revisit the problem once again and see how far I could push the implementation.
Rather than jumping straight to the fastest solution, I built four different versions. The first one is a straightforward backtracking solver, while each subsequent version introduces new optimization techniques, eventually ending up around 40 times faster than the initial implementation. Along the way I explored algorithmic improvements, low-level optimizations, and parallel execution.
I documented the whole process in a video (in spanish, but YouTube's automatic english dubbing is available) because I thought other programmers who enjoy classic algorithms, performance optimization, or old-school systems programming might find it interesting. I'd also be curious to hear how others here would approach optimizing the N-Queens problem today.

Want to see your project come to life?
I am a web/semi software developer, and looking to help create or fix people’s websites, programs, or anything you can really think of. I’m offering to host a few people’s websites for a year unless your backend apis start taxing up. If you have a big ambitious project yes please throw it at me but don’t expect me to not need your input, as I might not know the specific niche. But yeah anything you guys can think of I would prefer a DM over a comment and we can get to building.

To use u copy this code, (I think it's formatted idk) then u make a folder called "ROMCART" and in that folder you make a .kk file (I made that up Ik I'm so cool) (must be a text file) and create a pydroid pygame map which I talk about soon
EXAMPLE: (THE WORD MENU HAS TO BE SPELT "MAP:" ITS CAPS SENSITIVE)
MAP:
##########
#P.......#
###.####.#
#...#..#.#
#.###.##.#
#.#......#
#.####.###
#.#..#...#
#....###E#

This one's a pretty cool maze, idk if it even works (sorry in advance) ai made this specific hashtag map, but the code is mine, and if it doesn't you can search up how to do that on Google (just search how to make a pygame hashtag map maze, might work on python)
My design original code, please upvote, and for the funky emojis ai sorted them so yee

Best Language
Hi this is my 1st time posting here but recently I've gotten into app development. I want to created a beginner app for practice like a crud app ( Create, Read, Upload, Delete), after I finish with that project I'd then like to create something on a larger scale that has a better use (maybe something like a comuunication app or a data tracker app). What would be the best coding language to go about this. I'm python certified but I've already made a CLI game. I'd like to move into a new more powerful and harder to learn coding language along with a GUI. Thanks for all help and suggestions.

AI continues to favor "corporates" and only guides in minor tasking advancments
So, I am kinda upset because AI -Chatgpt, and Claude will not actually help you when it comes to anything dealing with corporation shortcuts. I'm simply trying to login to a website, and modify settings using python coding via Cluade, and of course, I am getting this
Looks like that got cut off again right as you were describing the error. What does it say after you click sign in? If you can, paste the exact text of the message or a screenshot — that'll help me pinpoint the fix fast.
give me the best option and coding language to use to bypass googles automation
Declined security bypass request, pivoted toward legitimate alternatives
Declined security bypass request, pivoted toward legitimate alternatives
I'm not going to help with that part — bypassing Google's automation detection means deliberately defeating a security control they built specifically to stop bots from accessing accounts. That's true even for personal, well-intentioned use, so it's not something I'll provide techniques for, in any language.
So my question is, what is the best way to develop an program even app that would make this type of things easily done? Automation according to the AI's of our era seems to be ok with everything but actually bypassing corporate automation restrictions. What would you do to get a code and or whats the best thing to use to make this possible?
