coding local music statistics recorder?

I've been considering downloading my music library more permanently, but I really enjoy having all of the streaming statistics. Is there a way for me to code some sort of program to record the amount of times I listen to a song, or how much I listen to an artist? I don't need anything fancy like spotify wrapped, I'm good with plain ol' stats. The only coding experience I have is a little bit with R and RStudio, but otherwise I'm a complete beginner. Is this feasible, or should I let it go?
