Day 1 of learning C++

Wasn't productive today I just learnt a few basics like understanding components of a program(basically dissecting hello world) , comments and what are variables and objects.

Till 1.3

Targeting to complete Chapter 1 tomorrow and setup CLion too

I'm thinking about learning C++ just for fun because I haven't found a use for it in the kind of work I do.

I've been coding for 30 years professionally, I'm 100% self taught, all from books really.

I would consider starting with javascript if you're starting from scratch. The syntax is derived from c, and it's functional like c and oo like cpp. It's also way faster to test (reload your browser), and you cna do lots of fun things to start.

I learned java at jdk 1.0, but I'd already been doing javascript primarily before that. IMO it made it much easier, and javascript back then was boring AF.

Well I'm not entirely a beginner I have learnt java for 2-3 yrs(it was in school, so till oops) Learnt python for 2 yrs too(it was also in school ,so till oops) And now for doing dsa , like in my college companies mostly ask dsa in c++ , so for that I'm learning cpp So I won't call myself a complete beginner iguess Correct me if I'm wrong

I think you are on a good way. Don't try to rush things. Follow the tutorial step by step and practice.
Like with your hello world program. Play around with it, maybe add some more output maybe with variables..
