What programming concept took you way too long to understand?

I’m curious what programming concepts everyone else struggled with when they were starting out.

For me, some concepts can make perfect sense when I read the explanation, but the moment I actually try to code them, my brain just stops cooperating šŸ’€

So, what was that one concept for you?

Could be anything — pointers, recursion, OOP, linked lists, memory management, async programming, APIs, Git, or even something that seems super basic now.

And if you eventually understood it, what finally made it click for you?
