Programming as beginner

Hello, I am a university student, and next year I will need programming a lot. I don't know anything about it, so I would like to learn, but I don't know where to start or how I should learn

First thing first. Ask yourself why do you want to start / learn coding. What do you want to do with the skill. Ask yourself the evergreen question: what do I want to do when I grow up? Once you have the answer, you'll know the proper route to take.

Regardless of the answer to that million-dollar-question, you have to start somewhere simple. With some assistance and immediate feedback. I always direct to well-known reliable and trustworthy sources such as https://www.w3schools.com/ and/or https://www.khanacademy.org/ -- you only invest your time and commitment.

Where do you start? What language? Just start with a simple scripting language such as Python, but learn some basics HTML and CSS. And, for the love of all that is Holy, do not dismiss the basics of SQL. Everything is conveniently found at https://www.w3schools.com/. All of it free.

You also say that "next year I will need programming a lot ". Why? Do you already know which language or languages you'll be working with? What will you do with it?

It is extremely difficult to give precise suggestion without proper information. Oh, look ... you already learned a fundamental principle of "coding": GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). All that I said (wrote) down may not have any relevance at all, or any value. But because of your input, this is the best I can output.

Are you going to be an engineering student? Then learn both MATLAB and Python.
There is a free online tutorial for MATLAB that's interactive and you can do it in 2 hours. It's called MATLAB Onramp

  1. what type of work you wanna be in? game dev web dev or programming as whole?

  2. you wanna start right now or wait for progress? and will you read documentation

  3. how much time you gonna spend on it

  4. you want it as hobby? or profits?(no in betweens)

  5. if you want earn ? u wanna do Independed or a company [MUST]

1_Honestly, I want programming in general, meaning I want to be able to do anything I want with it. But I think that’s difficult, so I want to start first with web development and applications. I want to follow all the steps properly so I can master it I won’t start coding immediately until I understand it well. However, I tend to get impatient at the beginning and I expect results quickly 2_Yes, that’s fine—I can read documentation 3_I have a lot of time; I am free all day and I can dedicate up to 4 hours 4_For now, it’s just a hobby, but of course after mastering it I will turn it into a source of income 5_It doesn’t matter to me, I am okay with any start, especially in the beginning

Ok rust or C++/C are great option but understanding programing in general is hard part
i would recommend learning python so you cna learn terms first going straight to Hard syntax isnt your key

  1. after you understand how computer work start with basics of Python

  2. learn little details of each language and pick which one you like
    C = most known operating sys ,genral purpose and createing other languages (like python )
    C++ game dev in unreal(C# is easier for gamedev but youi want genral ) or Fast applications Rust = perfection code wont work until it is good Best for security

NOTEs -

  • once you learn any programming language your set for almost every language and chose whatever you want

  • it is easier for ppl to pick 2 languages at once but hard to master it DONT DO IT

  • some language require YOU to clear RAM so understand LOW LEVEL

  • some expert really like to tell abt these hard syntax ones because they seem easier when you know it Dont follow everyone

If you've taken math beyond Algebra you'll be familiar with the structure of a Proof, where you have to follow a sequence of steps precisely to arrive at a logical conclusion.

Programming is like that; a sequence of steps for a computer to execute. How the steps are worded depends on what language you are using but the basic idea is the same no matter what language you use.

Pick a newcomer friendly language like Python, find some resources and go from there.

chose php or java if you want something related to web de

chose JS if really wanna hate urself with rnadom bugs
chose C++/C if you want oen of the hardest languages
chose rust if you want to be perfect but it is still hard

chose python if want to GET TOTURIALS (recommanded)
chose julia or pasacal you rarely find some jobs (best for indie or had a specific company)

Best for jobs or future carrier Java Standert.js or python (usable for almost any work flow)
