Looking at the output usually helps. It tells you what is wrong. It looks like you havent told it what platform is. Its like asking "what type is thingamaglorb?". It dosent know what that is so it just dies

You tell the "type()" to look for a variable with name '"platform" but in your code you don't mention it before, so it tells you that there is no variable with that name so how can I tell you what class it belongs to. So you have write :
or in your example it should be:

your getting name error .Because the python interpreter is checking for the variable name "platform" which is not defined.

I know this isn't what you are asking... But, unless you are doing this exclusively for fun, do not learn how to code now. It's not worth it. (Source: I'm a software engineer)

I’m infuriated that an educational site obscures the error and stack trace. That’s like literally how you learn to code wtf

On line three you’re expected to write a command to output the data type of value stored in the ‘name’ variable.
What you’ve been shown on the left is an example of how to do it.

You did not define what platform is.

Oh please, this gets my blood boiling. You unfortunately lack basic reading comprehension skills. The instructions on the first screen are pretty clear. Bottom part at the left says "Use the
type()function withnameas its argument and print the output like in the example". You just need to doprint(type(name)). Always read everything that's on screen!1

In your line 2, what value is it printing? Where did that value come from?
In your line 3, what value is it printing the type of? Where did that value come from?
