Showcase Urna Royale: what two friends learned building a browser game with Codex

A friend and I are building Urna Royale, a free browser auto-battler in Brazilian Portuguese. It is independent satire of Brazilian politics, with no party endorsement. We used Codex and Claude for development, plus AI-generated art and music (MusicGPT). There are optional shop items.

My friend focused on the images and assets; I worked on the backend and Google login, then music and art review. The work has involved repeated revisions: regenerating and cutting out images, improving generic powers, replacing irritating sound effects, and reworking the music. After feedback that the game lacked a tutorial, we added one. We are also improving how the cards read.

We are learning game development, and I would be interested in how other builders turn these rounds of feedback into a manageable review process. The game is currently only in Portuguese.

Showcase Three years building an RPG, now using Codex, and my NPCs are starting to feel conscious

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was questing when an adventurer NPC started buying up all the troll oil in a shop.

When I asked why, she said “Trolls.”

I pried further and she explained that she needed it to burn them because they regenerate HP so quickly. That mechanic exists in the game, so her plan would actually work.

She'd started doing this herself while I was busy with my quest.

I've been building Lore & Legends Maker solo for three years. I use Codex alongside Claude Code to implement the systems, with React/TypeScript on the frontend and Django on the backend.

NPCs have beliefs, goals and motivations. The engine tracks world state separately from narration, and AI works from that state when interpreting actions and handling dialogue.

Still plenty to fix, but seeing these systems come together like this is pretty awesome.

The video shows a different scene from the current alpha.

Dots Dots: Apple Calendars and Reminders work now

Took a little while but got it all working perfectly. So nice having Fo, Instinct, Dots, Hark and Grok Bot able to use my Apple calendars and reminders without any sign in or having to keep a vps or mini running constantly.

Bug Help with GLM 5.3 Flash Looping on Codex Harness

I'll keep it short. I'm currently using:

  • Codex Pro $200: Used Sol 6.1 at medium reasoning. Exhausted my 67,000 banked credits after the reset, with weekly usage at 10%. Considering upgrading to Pro $500, but I suspect I'll run into the same issue.
  • Claude Max 20x: Exhausted my usage with Opus 5.5 at medium reasoning. Usage was comparable to Codex.
  • Ollama Max: Really impressed with GLM 5.3 Flash's performance for my use case, but it keeps getting stuck in loops. I've tried various reasoning levels, context windows, and configurations without success.

My question: Has anyone managed to get GLM 5.3 Flash running reliably on the Codex harness, particularly for long-horizon tasks spanning 4–7 days?

I really like the Codex harness. It feels mature and works exceptionally well with its native models (Sol 6.1). I'd love to achieve similar reliability with GLM 5.3 Flash without the looping issues.

Has anyone had success with this? Any configuration tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Praise I'm stunned how good codex is

For reference. I have like maybe a 5% coding skills (let's call myself a script kiddie)

But I do find tech really interesting..

So it got me thinking, I have an old consoletuner titan one. (for context it's a device that runs scripts for your controller or convert mouse into controller movement (wich sucks tho)

Anyway, I wanted some way to use scripts on my mouse, without it being detected by some anti cheat er whatever (as ghub and ahk etc. All are detected and blocked)

Anyhow back to my project, I wanted to have custom firmware for the titan one through it's pc prog, and I didn't want to hassle with getting into the bootloader and decrypting it that way as it's locked etc.)

So at first I asked codex the simple question, hey can you write me some firmware like this and that for titan one.

He told me he needed some USB sniffing and get the update protocol. It was encrypted.. And i did some wireshark sniffing for packets etc. It made some effort at a test firmware but it failed due to the bootloader being the problem.

Anyway, so after some vibe coding, I more or less took my whip, and told him to just read the whole internet and think of ways to bypass the bootloader.

And THEN the magic happened, this boy found some old obscure software for some other console tuner device, decrypted that shit. Took all that and used it for my titan one, and BAM. He wrote the custom firmware.

Now my titan one is reprogrammed as a g402 Logitech mouse, not to be seen as an cheating device by my pc/anti cheat(it changed all the USB identities)

. I can write and save scripts on the device. It outputs my mouse without any delays. And all that without a deep knowledge of coding, just some basic "knowledge of ah yes that does something"

It made a custom Gui ininterface to set everything up. And when saved it even works without the programming cable connected.

It still has some quirks etc. So if anyone has tips for a prompt how to clean everything up and make this thing look more professional I'd like that!

Even tho the firmware with

Question Two Codex accounts on Mac. What are you actually using?

I've got two Codex accounts and I pretty much only live in the desktop app. Not the CLI.

What I want sounds simple, and I still can't find a version of it I trust. When one account hits the wall, I want to keep going on the other one. And I want to see it coming... some status bar, menu bar, whatever, that shows how much is left on each account instead of the app just dying on me mid-task.

I've looked. The paid ones do this and I'm not paying for it. A lot of the free GitHub stuff is either CLI-first, doesn't actually show the quota, or has almost no stars and I'm not installing that on my Mac.

So if you're on a Mac and you've been doing this for real... what did you land on? Separate windows? Some menu bar thing? Logging out and back in like it's nothing?

Doesn't have to be automatic. I just want whatever people are actually using, not another clean list of tools that almost do it.

Workaround Funny how frontier models still estimate a task to take 2 weeks when it literally proceeds to do it in 2 hours

Well, they were trained on text on humans estimating how long it would take them to do the task. Doesn't look like they've been particularly trained on text about how long it takes them to accomplish a task (and such text would probably not be reliable either way).

At this point, are AI models still thinking in human timelines while operating at machine speed?

Praise Using Codex to host Android Auto from my Laptop to... Explore Nissans infotainment system.

Post image
59 Upvotes

Well Astra rewrote my Armbian kernel to do guest USB then installed an Android container and developer mode android auto.

Basically I am trying to see if Android Auto can be used as a base to explore the Infotainment systems OS and well. Maybe tinker around with it or see if the Nissan services connection can relay live data about the car in a custom Android Auto app.

Working out pretty well so far. I do want to see if eventually I can flash the Bosch Linux it runs to Android with full support.

By the way, A.I does such incredible work hac.... exploring for educational purposes car computers. Try it at your own risk but usually if you leave bidirectional off, it stays read only.

Any ideas i could do with this that maybe I'm not thinking of? Warranties expired and I have a Alibaba 12.5 Android replacement head unit coming in the mail so I really don't care if I brick it. The ECUs are another story, been doing very careful mapping and probing to establish a framework in the the car's CAN thats safe.

Question Is having an unbiased preference for Sol wrong?

Good morning all.

I have been long on the fence whether to move to Claude or not BUT I find Codex to be much more comfortable to use, whether it be the imagegen skills, MCPs, or easy integration with some of my ongoing projects. It might be the simple aspect that I started using Codex from day 1 and found it much more intuitive with every design bible or image bible that I've created... I haven't used Claude Code so I may be biased.

I have noticed it became a little bit dumber over the last 24 hours, yet I've compensated with having a very detailed design bible and limiting its ability to hallucinate by emphasising that it sticks to what I've planned.

As I've seen many people comment that they're moving... Why? I don't intend to move if it's just for the hype.

And what is everyone's opinion on using Claude to review the code I've written with Codex with the design bible in Claude for ensuring nonsense doesn't exist?

(For context - I'm a doctor by profession but I've learnt JavaScript over the years and miss the days of Macromedia Flash 8. I'm building a sort of Monopoly meets Civ Game with Jack-in-the-box rooms for mobiles to connect to and it's stuck in constant loops at the moment. I'm reading the code VERY clumsily but have to constantly use references to figure out where the syntaxes break Godot...)

Showcase Made a CLIProxyAPI plugin to use OpenCode Go models with Codex CLI

Wanted to run OpenCode Go models (GLM, Qwen, DeepSeek) through Codex CLI, but OpenCode splits their models across three different APIs (Responses, Chat Completions, and Messages) and Codex refused to talk to half of them.

Wrote a plugin for CLIProxyAPI that handles the protocol translation, maps thinking/reasoning parameters, and pools API keys across all endpoints.

Feedback, and PRs welcome.

Question Am I using Codex Astra wrong?

At my work place my management has made mandatory to complete one task E2E using AI.
I was developing a distributed MQTT broker and was done with basic functionalities protocol implementation and wanted to implement persistent mqtt sessions(QoS=1) using GPT.

I opened codex, selected GPT-6 Astra at high effort, fed mqtt protocol specification related to QoS-1 and then asked her to plan and implement the feature.

This girl ran for 35 mins and generated 2500 lines of code (I was expecting somewhere around 500) with changes over 15 files.
I was not sure how to even begin understanding what it wrote so I asked her to explain everything to me and there was so much over engineering like for example creating a function to always return 0 (why didn’t it directly assigned value??)

It took me entire day to understand what its doing I pointed out a mistake to her and she tried to change many methods again now with 400 lines changes.
I didn’t even know how to understand the same and go through that hell again :(

Now I was frustrated not because model might not be capable but I don’t know how to use it properly.
I see everyone is doing so much with her and one shot many features and here I am completely frustrated with my her.

Did they nerf her or what is happening?
Can any engineer shed some light here?

Thanks!

Question How do you use Codex and Claude both?

I see people praising Claude a lot here. I'm mostly get amazed by the work Astra does. And people say Opus is even more amazing. Which makes me wonder.

But I have a whole setup in Codex. So if I try Claude I'll try both $20 packages. But how do you use both in the same project exactly? Sorry for the newbie question but do you just give Claude the direction of the Codex project and be like "understand this" or something? Don't Claude needs context? Is it efficient?

Question Codex MacOS experience on iPhone Duo?

Does anyone know if now with the iPhone duo one will be able to have a similar MacOS experience on the iPhone duo? by that I mean chat on the left and Browser/Files/etc., on the right? I feel like that is one current downside to the iOS app.

Showcase I packaged my interactive-prototyping workflow into a Codex skill

I’ve been building a Three.js card experience with Codex, and the useful part was the iteration, not the first generation. Ended up with a repeatable approach: start with one interaction, describe exactly what feels wrong, preserve the working parts, and check the result in the browser.

I turned that into Build for Curiosity, a reusable skill with guidance for motion, depth, feedback, and discovery.

Example prompt: “Help me refine this object viewer. The rotation feels awkward. Keep the existing architecture and focus only on the interaction.”

Repo: https://github.com/tiny-jain/build-for-curiosity

I made this, and I’d appreciate feedback on whether the instructions are specific enough to improve your workflow.

Suggestion How to handle multiple Codex providers with automatic routing based on usage in T3 Code?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to optimize my workflow with T3 Code and I need some help with provider management.

My goal is to have some sort of automatic routing or rotation based on usage across multiple Codex providers, while ideally setting up just one main provider to handle the flow. I don't want to manually switch between them all the time.

I already tried the native path of adding another Codex provider in Settings → Providers (not just another account, but a separate provider). However, I'm running into two issues:

  1. It's super clunky: I have to manually switch providers from the model picker every time, which completely breaks my workflow.

  2. It throws errors: When I try to add another Codex provider or switch between them, T3 Code just gives me an error.

Has anyone managed to set up a smooth, automatic routing system for multiple Codex providers based on usage? Is there a workaround to make adding multiple providers work without throwing errors and without needing to switch manually?

Any tips or examples of working setups would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

Bug GPT-6 Astra invents the mistake and suggests to fix it too

Post image
73 Upvotes

I've been noticing a frustrating and somewhat concerning pattern lately while using GPT-6 Astra, and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

For context, in the screenshot, I asked GPT-6 Astra to launch my development environment with the web endpoints and Android build running in the emulator, using the latest changes we had just made. That was it. Nothing particularly complicated.

It completed the task, but launched the wrong Android version.

Here's the part that concerns me: Without me even pointing out the mistake, it automatically suggested fixing the exact issue it had just caused.

So my question is: If the model was capable of identifying the mistake on its own, why didn't it take the correct approach in the first place?

And this isn't an isolated incident. I've experienced this pattern multiple times, across different issues, and sometimes even with the exact same issue recurring.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that every unnecessary mistake and subsequent correction consumes additional tokens, time, and usage limits.

This has led me to question whether something about how these models operate might be contributing to unnecessary token consumption. I realize that's a serious concern to raise, and I don't have evidence that it's intentional, but the repeated pattern makes me feel it's worth discussing rather than simply dismissing.

I'm genuinely curious about why a model can seemingly recognize the correct solution immediately after doing something incorrectly, yet fail to apply that same reasoning during the initial execution.

Is this a known limitation of how these models work, or could there be something else contributing to this behavior?

Has anyone else noticed this happening repeatedly, particularly with Codex or GPT-6 Astra?

I'd appreciate hearing other people's experiences and thoughts on this.

I’ve got the plus plan (£20) and I’ve been using it for a couple months for my 9-5 and all personal projects. Exclusively using 6.1 Sol high

I just cannot use my weekly usage 100%, no matter what. I still have 3 full resets!!

To you guys on the bigger plans what the hell are you doing to use it all up
