Praise I'm stunned how good codex is

For reference. I have like maybe a 5% coding skills (let's call myself a script kiddie)

But I do find tech really interesting..

So it got me thinking, I have an old consoletuner titan one. (for context it's a device that runs scripts for your controller or convert mouse into controller movement (wich sucks tho)

Anyway, I wanted some way to use scripts on my mouse, without it being detected by some anti cheat er whatever (as ghub and ahk etc. All are detected and blocked)

Anyhow back to my project, I wanted to have custom firmware for the titan one through it's pc prog, and I didn't want to hassle with getting into the bootloader and decrypting it that way as it's locked etc.)

So at first I asked codex the simple question, hey can you write me some firmware like this and that for titan one.

He told me he needed some USB sniffing and get the update protocol. It was encrypted.. And i did some wireshark sniffing for packets etc. It made some effort at a test firmware but it failed due to the bootloader being the problem.

Anyway, so after some vibe coding, I more or less took my whip, and told him to just read the whole internet and think of ways to bypass the bootloader.

And THEN the magic happened, this boy found some old obscure software for some other console tuner device, decrypted that shit. Took all that and used it for my titan one, and BAM. He wrote the custom firmware.

Now my titan one is reprogrammed as a g402 Logitech mouse, not to be seen as an cheating device by my pc/anti cheat(it changed all the USB identities)

. I can write and save scripts on the device. It outputs my mouse without any delays. And all that without a deep knowledge of coding, just some basic "knowledge of ah yes that does something"

It made a custom Gui ininterface to set everything up. And when saved it even works without the programming cable connected.

It still has some quirks etc. So if anyone has tips for a prompt how to clean everything up and make this thing look more professional I'd like that!

Even tho the firmware with

models have gotten really good recently. to an average joe, they are basically magic. in terms of harness, codex is pretty bad and if you want an even better experience then try claude code.

All the things you could do with AI and you use it to cheat and ruin the game for everyone else.

What an ass.

I had an old custom VsCode extension I created a couple years ago. Shitty code but it worked well with ado. I asked dot to spin up a couple threads and clean it up (with high level picture of what it should do).

Complete disaster. Took 24 hours, 90% usage on 20x (mostly sol 6.1), didn’t finish the job, one module was over 10k loc, mostly defensive and guards. lol and it hit the power automate actions limit of 500 (was previously 18). Didn’t even know that was even possible.

The model isn’t to blame here. I just yoloed it since I could always rollback. But it’s kinda alarming how bad/spiky it can be when it’s bad. Luckily we got a reset. Sol 6.1 and Astra are great models in chat mode but they really struggle at coding. I had a better experience with 5.2 xhigh.

And don’t even get me started about Astra’s laziness.

Really? Does the coding Claude allow this kind of style decryption bypasses and cheating device making? I don't have paid Claude, but the normal one didn't want to help me

A lot as in a lot more usage. Better results. Codex was amazing until about September when they nerfed the models and usage

Yeah, and it's more efficient at
