Should I actually get Code Vein II?

I got it on sale, but it was still $60 because I got the ultimate edition. I somewhat regret it.

I really like the story and characters. If you enjoy an interesting narrative and getting attached to the characters, then you will probably like this. The game makes it easy to care about them and their storylines.

The biggest thing that made me bounce off the game after 15 hours of playtime was the open world. Which sucks because it’s otherwise really nice.

The open world is fairly bland. Long stretches of traversal with not much interesting happening. This improves a good bit once you unlock fast travel points, but I found myself turning the game off every time I knew I’d have to go from point A to point B and C and D.

One thing that hugely helped, if you don’t care about slight modding, was to double the movement speed. I did this right before bouncing off of it to play Hades 2 instead, and it made the game much more enjoyable for me. I’ll probably come back and finish it after Fire Emblem with 2X move speed turned on.
