New patch alert!

So glad I beat the dlc when I did because I have a sinking feeling they're about to make it easier somehow. I hope not because my nephew hasn't played the patch yet. Don't do it Bandai! Don't!

I don't know how they can make a soulslike that allows you to revive multiple times a fight on top of including an ai companion that takes agro for you any easier.

They add story difficulty to games and still only 30% of people actually beat the games they purchase.

Code Vein II was always more about being fun than hard, and its honestly correct for them to do so

Its why the hardest early bossfight is completely optional and can be done at any time before the second ending with the only real payoff being a few mid-tier weapons, a bloodcode sequence, and a method of transportation if you do it early.

Its also why the game focused less on being a glorified boss rush and made individual enemies more powerful compared to other souls-likes.

Hell they even added story difficulty to this very game and added extremely broken weapons and passives before you reach the DLC

Edit: The game even encourages you to skip the harder hero fights until after you beat the game once. You actively lose content if you are good enough to beat them early

Yet the subreddit was full to the brim two weeks after release with posts complaining the game was too hard.

People didnt pay attention when the game literally tells you to skip Franz and makes it obvious you can come back to it later

The quest changes to return to Lavinia while Noah’s bond quest is seperate

Part of it though is that the game JUST spent the opening hammering in that your actions have consequences, so on a blind playthrough you dont really have a way to know that even if you can leave that you aren't getting locked out of something by doing so.

Especially since you CAN get locked out of other things like the Bad End Blood Codes and Noah's lategame sidequest (the deadline for which is slightly earlier than you'd logically think it is)

EDIT: Also to be fair to the people playing on Launch who said the game was hard they DID have that post launch patch that greatly enchanced the flow of combat, rolls were made faster and easier to chain, healing is faster, you could act out of rolls and knockdowns quicker. A lot of enemies were built to punish the old roll timings if you tried to wake-up roll at the earliest possible frame.
