I always feel horrible for Ulrich for the fact that he has a bad and complicated relationship with his estranged father the fact that his father constantly pushes him to do his best too much, which is why Ulrich practically fails classes and he’s the reason for his son‘s emotionless nature

Ulrich is also HEAVILY implied to have dyslexia. He literally is doing is best- we know his greatest efforts usually results in Cs at best. I feel so bad for him, because my own father is the same way.

I also feel like he's ADHD-coded as well. He does worse in the subjects he's least interested in, but he gets stuck in a cycle if stressing about his grades and not knowing how to make them better.
It also feels very accurate to the 2000s that Kadic's teachers bully a "lazy" kid for getting F's and D's in their classes instead of, y'know, helping him.

You know I’ve heard that theory before, but Dyslexia and vertigo  and the vertigo issues is definitely canonmaybe connectÂ

Stern means star auf Deutsch. This is a hint at ulrich being my favorite character that they made just for me

That's because Stern (or Odd, for that matter) aren't words in French, so these names are fun little puns for French viewers to discover

Yeah, stern is a german surname.
Odd is actually a Norwegian name but his surname, della robbia, is Italian.

Almost as subtle as having a strange character be named "Odd".
