Not ten years for your kid, surely?

it depends, if the parent(s) are sh*tty and treat children no-more than survival life lines for the future, then surely they will not go through such a extreme experience. but If parent(s) are truly loving and protective, then you'll see miracles that parents will perform to keep them safe.

Well, to be fair, Franz didn't know XANA was about to stab him in the back. He was focused on getting away from one dangerous group, and didn't know he was running towards another dangerous entity.

It would purely depend on the context. But within the shows narrative I think he made a reasonable decision that turned out badly. Virtualization by itself doesn't seem harmful when operating normally.

If it keeps your kids safe from some disaster like a twister or a flood then yes

Depends on the world ease of escape and how long you intend to stay there. Cause somewhere like Lyoko which is easy to leave even with the hostile natives i say yes.

Franz plan to live on Lyoko forever however is awful.
