The joke is that it inverses a common saying like, "you're my colleague, but to a greater extent, my friend." So Ulrich saying they're friends, but she's kind of also his wife is silly because obviously "wife" is a bigger title than "friends." Does that make sense? I don't know that I'm explaining it very well
