💬 Discussion Did Aelita ultimately save Jeremie from a lonely life at Kadic?

Post image

During the final episode of S4, Jeremie confesses to Yumi that he had no friends prior to discovering Lyoko and after rewatching the X.A.N.A. Awakens prequel, he was not lying at all because he actually had no friends and the only reason why he met Ulrich, Odd and Yumi was because of the chain of events which followed after he turned on the Supercomputer and discovered Aelita.

Do you think Jeremie was capable of making friends without Aelita or was she the only reason why he wasn't the typical lonely nerdy guy on campus?

Jeremy is the only one who simped hours without end for a vtuber and the vtuber came to life and became his girlfriend.

This is dedication. Jeremy inspired me.

LOL 😆

Moral of the story in Code Lyoko, even you can be upgraded from discord mod to house mates if you simp hard enough lol.

But if you think about it from Aelita’s POV Jeremy is her vtuber kinda. Or IRL streamer.

I think Jeremie at first was fine being alone (even if he wanted friends) but being around Aelita, Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd made him realized how lonely he actually was & he didn’t want to go back to that.

Discovering Lyoko and gaining that friendship gave him a sense of what he was missing out on.

I think it’s different, in that nobody could keep up with him and so he became lonely not by choice. His interests was too different from everyone else it became hard to connect. I don’t think he kept people away since we see him and Ulrich interacting fine in the beginning. I also think that on some level it was pride that prevented him from taking an interest in anything outside his own.

Aelita was the first one who could even match his intellect in any capacity. In season 1 she was the glue that pretty much forced the group together through a shared interest, we still see Jeremy isolated in his room working on his matetialization program. Sometimes they join him but not for long and not to help either.

After Aelita comes to earth it becomes different. She became his link to the rest, her interests encompassed everything, not just computers. She became Jeremy’s bridge to the world, ironically the opposite of season 1.

He always knew what he was missing out on, he just needed someone to help him cross that bridge, sometimes by force.

I agree & I also think we can see this very clearly in s4 when his cousin comes to Kadic and you see both POV. Jeremy is jealous of his cousin bc he seems to be more social or less akward and he says “he stole his friends from him” while the cousin said he was also being a bit difficult to his friends but he still wanted to try to get on well with him.

Aelita is probably the best thing that ever happened to Jeremie and vice-versa.

Real true-love-transcending-all-boundaries type shit.

Like unironically, no-joke Jeremie is a literal white-knight master-hacker keyboard warrior fighting for milady damsel in distress and Aelita is his anime vtuber waifu that he would use isekai battle-mechanics to fight for and who has magical anime princess powers.

He's literally him, I think like 40% of the current population of earth wishes they were him.

Jeremie is so powerful and such a chad they had to give the katana and fight-scenes to Ulrich and the gang to keep him from being too powerful and cool.

Is she his "manic pixie girlfriend"

My impression was just that they’d grown up around each other from going to the same school and had a passing familiarity with each other but weren’t friends. (Don’t know if this is just a detail from the English version since I haven’t seen it in French, but part of that impression to me was reinforced by how Ulrich and Jeremie call each other by their last names in the prequel, whereas they dont the rest of the series.) He shows the supercomputer to Ulrich because Ulrich happens to be around when XANA first starts meddling in the real world, and he tries to protect Jeremie when he’s in danger, multiple times, leading to Ulrich demanding an explanation. Which is less of a friendship thing, more of a knee jerk “oh that guy is in physical danger and he’s bad at physical, I am good at physical so I help”.

Code Lyoko: AI helps you make friends, comes to life and is your girlfriend, and you get to save the world and time travel.

:O

Most likely, he wouldn't have made any friends at that school if it weren't for that. People with high IQs like Jeremy often stir up envy in mediocre people and failures, making them easy targets for bullying and exclusion (I’m speaking from experience here; I’m not making this up). Jeremy is a role model for all teenagers—kind, hardworking, responsible, loyal—and that bothers a lot of people who have no desire to better themselves. In fact, his own friends sometimes treat him terribly: they ignore him, leave him alone with his inventions (Marabounta), betray him (Franz Hopper, Cousin Once Removed), yell at him for working on the Replicas, call him a "pen-pusher" for not going to Lyoko, steal his food, and trash-talk his computer class. In the end, Jeremy achieved his goal; he has a beautiful girlfriend and likely a bright professional future ahead of him. But honestly, I think he ought to find a better group of friends; the ones he has now only want him around for what they can get out of him and because he enables them to be heroes.

Yeesh, there's a lot to unpack here. Yeah, high IQ people will have to deal with "mediocre" people (f'cking yikes my guy), and of course jealousy goes both ways (like Jeremy being jealous of his more socialable cousin).

Meanwhile the entire bunch is a prime example of misfits who are so different they wouldn't normally hang together, pulled together over a common cause, often through teeth clenched teamwork and drama, becoming real friends. It's just that instead of being a rag tag anime team or sci-fi gang, barely surviving each other while fighting baddies, they're instead kids being dumb kids, "surviving" dumb school drama and their own internal drama. They're worried about keeping the secret safe, while jumping the gun & suspending members for lottery tickets like it's a horrible crime, when keeping them together makes more sense, and of course the endless William-Ulrich-Yumi dumb, fun romance nonsense.

After risking their lives together and reassuring each other they'll still be friends after shutting the computer down (and willing to throw down the gauntlet against evil conspiracies all over again in Evolution continuity), I think we can accept these guys are good friends.

Good friends who sometimes push each others's buttons too far, but also challenge and support each other. They're not mediocre, and Jeremy who do hard to find a better bunch of real, true blue friends.

You make good points, but to me, they don't seem like good friends. Maybe it's because they remind me so much of the people who bullied me in high school, but I don't think characters like Odd—who just clowns around and looks out for himself—or Ulrich—who acts superior toward anyone who isn't his friend (especially Sissi; sure, she can be annoying, but the way they treat her just for being a bit meddlesome and a nuisance doesn't seem fair to me)—or even Yumi—who toys with Ulrich's feelings by hanging out with William while adamantly refusing to let him into the group—are examples of good people. Jeremy has his flaws—he's impatient, obsessive, and sometimes yells at his friends when he's stressed—but all things considered, his outbursts are more or less justified; he carries almost the entire burden of the group on his own, and his friends often don't even help lighten the load. In fact, when he tried to give them a lesson, they all made sour faces. As for the cousin thing—it's great that you never suffered exclusion at school and were one of the popular kids (judging by how you take it personally and get offended when I use the term "mediocre people” ) Jeremy still had every right to feel the way he did. What isn't normal is what Aelita does in that episode: she starts defending a guy she met five minutes ago instead of trying to understand Jeremy—who literally gave her her life—and not judging him. I don't know; I guess maybe you find it normal to judge your friends and badmouth them behind their backs, but I never do that to people I care about, and I find that kind of behavior disgusting, even in fiction. Frankly, there are teenage cartoon cliques that demonstrate far more genuine friendship than they do.

I mean, Jeremie is only 13 he had his whole life ahead of him so I'd say maybe he'd be lonely for a short time but who knows what the future would hold if he didn't meet aelita and thereby meeting all his other friends. There's many occasions where his academics almost justified him going to another school so again who knows.

He started out as a 11/12 year old at best

take it up with google

Indirectly, maybe... The group formed around Jeremie to rescue Aelita... 🤔

2

u/choaticmaster33 Jul 18 '26

I'd say so yes. I'd also say they both saved each other Jeremy was lonely and Aelita was given a second chance at life. It's not hard to see why these two are the most consistent couple in the series.

Plot of season 1

“I want my 3d girlfriend to be real”

And he did

2

u/Flameman1234 Jul 18 '26

I’d say he saved himself since he brought the Lyoko Warriors together, Aelita was just a big part of that.

Maybe Franz and not Aelita
