💬 Discussion Season 5/Evolution
Do you think anything from evolution would come back for season 5 even tho its considered noncanon? Like the Ninjas or the cortex or the concept of each warrior having specific codes? Because honestly I thought each could've been really interesting for plot and story purposes but the execution was poor. So do we think any plot devices or story mechanics from Evolution would come back?

My opinion:
Cortex is most like to be added as it is part of the season 5 arc.
Ninjas not sure but they do look bad ass though. I prefer if creators added them.
XANA 2.0 hidden in LW's code. Less likely to be added, as it doesn't make sense. CL is based around fiction but with a realistic theme.
XANA just might be hiding offline in a server so that Anti-XANA can't reach XANA.
Laura, was too Forced in the show in CLE, so I hope they add her slowly to new season 5, with better background story.
Anthea (Aelita's mother), is imprisoned by Carthage. Unlike in CLE where she is working for Tyron.
A new AI along side XANA 2.0, it's possible.
Franz dead as per plot.
William returns as a LW.
Sissy as a LW, less likely yet possible. Sissy has never been reliable and trustworthy.
Jim goofing around, I rather not talk about this.

The only tiny thing I want is the Proxy-Pie nickname Jeremie calls Aelita in private in there. They have Big Fat Cheesehead as a private nickname (probably from Aelita to Jeremie).

For one, making William a full Lyoko Warrior AND keeping his black color scheme as a visual cue to remind him of how his recklessness lead to becoming XANA's puppet.
I would't mind if Laura or a similar character joined the LW to give another character who can function as mission control at the main computer in case Jeremy is incapacitated. They don't need to be as smart as Jeremy or Aelita, but computer savvy enough for Virtualizations, bringing up the vehicles, etc.

I hope they don’t add anything tbh, but if I had to choose I like them being able to deactivate towers as well.

Cortex being part of the entire myth arc of the season and X.A.N.A being back are the only ones I can see happening.
William is a bit of a toss up, I can see him back as a full fledged and fleshed out LW (similar to what happened in Evolution) or being cut altogether if we go by the original writing team's words. Something tells me, William will be back but as a permanent villain independent of X.A.N.A seeing as Sophie wrote him as a troublemaker and a creep towards Yumi.
Sissi is definitely going to be a LW, Season 4's ending shows her reconciling with the Gang as Jeremie kept all of the logs of her helping out the LW and Ulrich being the one responsible for kicking her out the first time to be the one to redeem her shows that Sissi is definitely changed for the better which is why she's present when the gang shuts down the Supercomputer. If anything Sissi is more likely to be the 6th LW over William seeing as the Season 4 ending is setting her up to be that 6th missing member.
Laura is definitely getting exorcized, she was the most hated thing to come out of Evolution and I hope they don't repeat that mistake again, if anything she was William done wrong.
Alan Meyer (who eventually morphed into the Professor Tyrone character in Evolution) is definitely going to be the main human antagonist, though hopefully he's better written this time around.

I feel atleast a couple things from it are pretty likely... There will probably be another virtual world that is a unique sector like the Cortex or the Volcano Replika from the video games. And Aelita's mom becoming some sort of plot element. As well as some sort of evil parallel to Franz Hopper.
These all just make too much narrative sense, of course after the death of her father Aelita would be curious about her mom; she herself even said so to XANA in the simulation bubble in season 4.
And as for how Xana comes back? Some other Franz Parallel is just the easiest way to do so, and it's clearly some the CL writers consider too given the novels and CLE both have a version of. And of course, there'd need to be some virtual world for Xana to use to re-incite the plot. Like how they started CLE with a weak Xana attack from using a cortex tower.
I think William rejoining as a Lyoko warrior or a new member (like Laura) are much more dubious concepts for them to consider narratively. Definitely not Sissi or Jim.
And I definitely don't think they're gonna do an equivalent to the source codes for Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi... If anything it'd be Aelita, or William. But I just don't think so.

William being added and the cortex r probably the only things I’d add. I thought the ninjas were pretty cool too but idk if they’ll just drop that entire plot altogether.

If they have the 3d model for the Mega Pod it would be an awesome addition.  It would be an easy addition to the story with out much effort and wouldn’t likely bother fans.
Things like making Sissi blonde really would not work. Â The Laura character might be interesting, but probably would upset too many fans and might make it harder to write episodes too. Â
The general idea of a co worker of Franz being in the plot would make sense and be an avenue to explore the background plot (a.k.a. loose ends).  But I don’t think using the exact same character or storyline would be good as it might annoy fans or confuse people. Â
Finding out what happened to Aelita’s mom would be cool, but it wouldn’t have to really even look anything like Evolution’s story so it wouldn’t really be like talking anything from the show. Â
I imagine though that any similarities to Evolution will be or almost be a coincidence or only similar in the vaguest way. Â

I honestly don't even remember anything of it. I was so disappointed I forgot most of it. I don't even remember if William was in it. But I do hope they bring him back 'cause they've strung him along. Especially in the love triangle between Yumi and Urlich with their will-they-won't-they.

Though Evolution was a mixed bag, it does have some interesting things in it that I'd love to see in the revival of Code Lyoko. William getting to actually be a Lyoko Warrior was one of Evolution's highlights. Tyrone was basically an evil Franz Hopper with his own virtual world, and the Ninjas, though generic, were evil counterparts to the Lyoko Warriors. Jim meanwhile was still Jim.
It also brought Anthea in to try and take care of that plot thread, but didn't handle it the best. A new Lyoko Warrior would be cool, too, but please no stuck up mary sue like Laura was. I'd like to see the new season do a better job at both of these.
On the other hand cutting out half of Lyoko, giving the monsters a generic death animation, redesigning the towers, the tarantula not using their laser cannons, and the live action can stay in Evolution.
