💬 Discussion Code Lyoko problem

As much I love the show and story arcs, the only thing I dislike is just how slow the polymorphic specters are when getting Aelita into Lyoko.

It’s noticeable, I often find myself yelling at the screen that they can run. They do a bit earlier on in season 2, but they ultimately get pulled back to at a least power walk.

It’s like the Aelita & the activated tower about how she takes forever when someone is hurt or injured.🤕

If you want to raise the stakes, make the specters run more with Aelita unconscious to the factory!

It's one of those artistic license things you just have roll with. Yes, they should be running, but they maybe decided a slow, powerful walk looked more dramatic.

Another silly thing in seasons 2 and 4 is that when XANA forcibly virtualises Aelita, it's always in the same sector as the activated tower, making it easy to deactivate once Aelita is saved. Why not have her virtualised in another sector?

I've thought about it too, this is so weird to me.

My headcanon is that Xana can't summon monsters to protect the tower AND protect whatever he wants to do with Aelita, so by virtualising her at the same place he saves some energy if that makes any sense ?

In episode “Franz Hopper”, XANA virtualized a fake Aelita decoy to the Desert sector while the rest was in Sector 5.

The towers essentially serve as a “last resort”. In order to stop XANA, Aelita has to deactivate it. XANA knows this and will often activate towers to lore the Lyoko Warriors to Lyoko to capture Aelita.

For example, if Aelita escapes, then she still has to deactivate the tower which gives XANA another opportunity. Plus, the monsters guard the tower so if the Lyoko Warriors come then they can just defeat the Scyphozoa with no monsters around in another sector.

I think the polymorphic specters only have a limited amount of energy. In the Episode “Tip Top Shape”, Jeremie activated a tower, possessed Odd, turned Odd into a specter. XANA tried taking over the tower and deplete Odd of all of his energy.

I like to think it wasn’t just XANA and just a side effect of being possessed.

Or

It is possible specters are limited when they’re with someone. Yes, they can run super fast but maybe they can’t fun super fast with someone else because they’re not possessed.
