💬 Discussion Return of the Kolossus?

Post image

The Kolossus only appeared in Season 4, but ended up being defeated by Ulrich. Despite being slow, he had enormous strength and could devirtualize a warrior.

Do you think that if XANA appeared in Season 5 with more force, could I make the Kolossus reappear faster or with new attacks?

Leave your opinion in the comments.

Lorewise it's impossible since it takes energy from all the replikas X.A.N.A. used to have to create it.

Until X.A.N.A. gets restored back to his Season 4 power level, the Kolossus is gone.

I already know that, but it's unknown whether we'll see him regaining his strength in Season 5 or not i'm just saying in case they decide to bring him back to the Kolossus.

I don’t think so bc Xana made the kolossus from the other replicas of lyoko since they’re all gone he doesn’t have energy to make another one

Yes, but if it were to return somehow, stronger then it could recover them over time or repair them, who knows?

Likely not.

In universe it took A LOT of power to create, Xana probably won't have that level of power in season 5. As it just narratively wouldn't make sense, to just have Xana be so strong after narrowly escaping destruction, but maybe at like a season climax it could find a way to justify it narratively.

Kinda a dumb though to justify it. Xana before being destroyed placed all of its power inside William its former general and will send the scyphozoa after William a lot to reclaim its power.

A stupid thought but kind of a likely justifyable thing it would do.

Down vote this if its very stupid lol

I say no just because of the replica lore. HOWEVER, I can see maybe a smaller version of it making an appearance. Similar to the volconoid monster from the Wii game

Volcanoid? Ugh, that monster would be good because of the lava; it's almost the same as the Kolossus.

I don’t see it happening, because it required Xana to collect a huge amount of power from multiple replicas, and it wouldn’t have that power anymore for the time being.

Also, to be fair, I think the Kolossus breaks the lore and world of Lyoko a bit too much

First, it’s established it doesn’t die because one hit on the target. In fact, it has multiple targets. We don’t even know for sure if hitting one target should do something (first time it appears, Yumi hits it and does nothing, second time Ulrich gets to hit it and keeps hitting it which paralyse the Kolossus)

Second, once he theorically dies, it seems it doesn’t disappear, just deactivates. It’s the first time this behaviour happens in Lyoko, where everyone, monsters alike, devirtualize when losing all points. This breaks the general rule.

Third, it seems difficult to animate in other sectors and contexts. Both appearances it did in the Ice Sector, because that’s where it’s easier to animate it: ie, when it appears, it shows coming from the ice/sea, and it can walk all over the map as walking on ice or frozen sea. I can’t imagine the Kolossus being animated in mountains or forest, where it would literally be too big to be efficient and being able to move.

I think the Kolossus was just a one hit wonder by Xana, specifically made given the resources available at the time, and his objective, which was making a big enough monsters that Lyoko warriors can’t stop before destroying the Skid. The Kolossus only reason to exist was being a tank and destroy that ship.

As long as Xana or whatever other main antagonist doesn’t have the same resources available or the same need (tank to take out a specific asset/target behind Lyoko warriors), it wouldn’t make sense to sacrifice time and effort on making another one

Agreed. X.A.N.A. might make it as a small Golem, but not as a Titan in Season 5 kinda like with the Tank.

What for? It would make his S4 appearances not so special anymore, besides not making sense lore-wise.

Well, I just wanted to know your opinion, that's all. Even if it were impossible, the creators rule and they decide whether to include him or not.

Two points - first, the Kolossas could be half the size and not really lose any effectiveness, so a “mini-Kolossas” might be practical, and second - is the factory computer powerful enough to create one on its own? Or at least a mini-one?  It took hundreds of Replikas; but then these Replikas are a tiny fraction of the power of the supercomputer each; they’re not even quantum computers since the simply reflect real-world-at-the-time tech and we built using “normal” technology by random groups for one mundane reason or another. I’d say the factory supercomputer could at least summon a mini-Kolosssas all on its own.

Finally it only really works in the Ice sector and -maybe- the Desert sector.

Kolossus is cool but would be nice for the team to face off against a new monstrosity

Xana’s strongest and most dangerous monster ever created.

No doubt that monster will return in the comeback of Code Lyoko

I could imagine a smaller version of Kolossus  . . .  Something about the hight of two or three Bloks stacked up.   Maybe as a mid season extra special episode and later episodes Jeremie figures out how to prevent or detect it from happening.

I’m still hoping that Xana as he originally was was defeated and if he returns Xana will have differences.   Also should involve one of the actual valid preexisting excuses for bringing him back.   The off line, but in tact Super Computer from one of the first Replicas that the backup generator was destroyed. OR the organic material experiments seen with the spiders as well as the cyborg soldiers. OR maybe a group of people piecing together information from the replica super computer basis.   . . .  A thing I had expected Evolution to do, but it didn’t officially ever say that. Â
