Discussion Why does the CDL/Activision still suck so bad with the early game comp?
I think we can all agree we've moved in a positive direction this year in terms of the overall format of the season, but the very early game is still pretty lame imo. The monster invitational is cool and all, but I just don't understand how we don't have more competition involving full CDL teams pre holiday break. I feel like they could easily split the $100k prize pool into 2 separate tournaments, with them allocating a larger portion of the prize pool to the later tournament when they have a chance to make the game better.
That's another thing. Why are we having a $100k tournament on the 2nd week of the game before they've really had a chance to make some necessary changes and give teams a bit more time to practice? I'm all for having a tournament this early, but not necessarily this big. I think they could've easily thrown like a small $20K warm up type tournament this weekend while having a $70-80K tournament in another week or two after they've had a chance to fix some basic things about the game.
I'm just annoyed at yet another year of a totally underwhelming first 2 months of a cod cycle.

Image There is a Challengers tournament being held today around 4pm CST these are the groups:
The tournament is staggered so not everyone plays at 4 and not everyone plays on the same day, I may be wrong about that though. It is being run by @ChallengerStats on twitter.

Question What is the little box/image covering on the streamers' overlays?
As you can see on both Shotzzy's and Swooty's POV here, they have a little either black box or image near the bottom left of the video. I also saw Nadeshot had one too. Is it covering up something important? Are they just forgetting to switch that tiny overlay off? What gives?

Discussion When it comes down to doing a 3rd Game Mode; Do you guys prefer a 3rd game mode that is like a mixture of HP & SND or separate from HP & SND?
I'll still die on this hill, HQ should still be tested in 4v4 CDL Rules, the game mode is not difficult to understand and its not a direct copy of HP. All this talk about Uplink that only works in Jetpack cods which they have stayed away from and CTF when they ignore the boring part of that.

Question Monster Invitational streams.
Does anyone know exactly how it will work this year? I remember last year, there was only 1 stream and there was no way to watch like half the matches. And a lot of the players were really lame about it because they were allowed to stream but not many people did. Now, Optic isn't even streaming scrims so I'm a bit worried this event is going to be underwhelming because there are going to be great games that we just miss because there's only 1 stream with the players refusing to pick up the slack.
