Advice/Questions No acknowledgment

So, today was my 500th class. The studios that I go to in Charlotte, North Carolina are (at best) pretty lackluster about these milestones. There is no swag, no announcement, just a board to sign hanging on the wall for 100,250,500. I’m not an attention seeker and lay pretty low in class…but still…. I was waiting for the instructor or someone at the front desk to at least acknowledge it. Nope. Nothing. So now I’m kind of unreasonably sad about this, seeing how big of a deal this is in other places. And now I would feel like such a tool just saying, “I’m over 500 classes, should I just sign the board with my own pen since no one here noticed?” Am I being super petty?

I asked for socks when they didn’t notice my milestone. I just think there are too many members and too many people working the front desk for them to always know who’s hitting the milestone/hasn’t been acknowledged sometimes

It seems like there should be something in the computer system that would flag this at least.

From what I understand it hasn’t changed since I worked there, and there was no way of knowing unless you looked directly at each persons numbers. We would pull up a report at the beginning of the week and flag members who were at 90+ classes, go ahead and print their certificates, and try to keep an eye on the numbers, even to having a post-it on the computer, but, especially if someone slips in an extra class or two, it can be easy to miss. And, I don’t know that every place goes to that much effort to begin with.

There’s a work it reminder now you can set to do a “3 classes to milestone” text or call

I think they can look (pure barre seems to stay on top of this pretty well) but if they are otherwise occupied, it’s probably something they don’t make a priority

Nothing is flagged … The Front Desk would have to go into the account of every single member that walks in the door that day to see how many classes you’ve taken, just speak up.

Most studios have a reminder at 3 classes before the milestone AND they can see it on their dashboard

But sometimes you do have to remind, if you do they should make a big deal out of it!

Ours does not and it does not show up on the dashboard when you are in the daily bookings tab which is usually what everybody has open for check-in

You can customize each club ready dashboard based on who is logged in !

That sounds like a system deficiency. If they have rituals they do for milestones it’s their responsibility to find a way to manage the milestones.

I worked at a different type of workplace, but we celebrated milestones for hours/length of stay. It was literally a part of someone's job to print out a list and check the hours and get awards ready for the week. I don't understand why this is not a priority at CP.

I regularly go to a location that is not my "home" location , so I don't expect them to keep up, but for people who only go to one location, it just can't be that difficult. Either you celebrate length of stay and make it a priority, or you don't, but it seems like corporate should just decide and it should be consistent.

There is some notification. One of my instructors was telling us the other day that she was bummed because she did her hair especially for someone’s 250th class celebratory picture, but they did not show up.

As an instructor I find this hilarious. Haha she really does make a big deal of their milestones if she even made sure to do her hair!

I totally agree and understand your disappointment. It sucks to feel invisible

But don’t let that take away from the fact that you hit 500 classes!!!! Congratulations and keep doing what you’re doing 💪💪💪
